Did those other celebrities make a big stink and excommunicate their in-laws while demanding privacy? |
+1 My SIL is fake, precious, and attention seeking in the same way MM is. I don't follow her on social media anymore, where she is over the top delusional in her presentation of herself and her family, but even in real life, every story or anecdote is an embellished, dramatic brag fest. There is no reason for her to be like this with me, I'm an empathetic and down to earth person, but she is and has been from day 1. The whole family has to walk on egg shells around her husband's hair trigger temper and all the siblings resent that the family has bailed them out financially multiple times. They never host a holiday event, but show up empty handed and entitled to all of ours. I don't know how a person can live so far up their own butt hole without suffocating. |
| How is this any different than any other celebrity or wanna be celebrity posting stuff on their instagram. Isn't that the whole point-look at me, get likes, etc etc. This is where our society is now and she isn't any different than any other instagrammer/celebrity so not sure why the ire is so intense. |
More people would benefit from that practice. You can cut toxic people out of your life and step out of unhealthy situations that people you love think are acceptable. DCUM would be a happier place if more people did it. |
She’s a Black woman. Even if you think she’s barely Black, she’s Black enough to be hated for it. |
The difference is the rabid inlaw hate in such an ugly, public, monetizing way, airing grudges and private information of intimate family members publicly, all while claiming that they only did it because all they want is privacy. |
That is not what she is doing though. She is monetizing her family's private information. |
Actually, most people don't have Royals for in-laws. THEY have the power in the relationship, not her. And King Charles/Prince Willy cannot unite their own family and are expected to lead a nation! What a farce!! No one seems to see that irony. And BTW it's not just Harry who went astray - one doesn't have to go far to see Prince Andrew or King Edward (Queen Elizabeth's uncle), or even King Charles's scandle. This family has very long history of dysfunction and deceit. MM has nothing on them. She's merely a small drop in the bucket - she does get a lot more criticism because 1. She's not British, 2. She's not royalty, 3. She's not upper class, 4. She's half black, and 5. She's American. Wallis Simpson got some wrath because she was American - but she was still white and upper class, yet they treated her with disdain. |
Haha! Me too! |
Well, some of them had very public affairs where they spoke about being their affair partner's tampon - wait... that was just King Charles. Same thing as staying loyal to your husband while your ILs encouraged the media to treat you like crap. |
Did you watch it? Hear about it? Have interest in it? Then you are the problem. If people didn't care it would not be monetized. |
| I thought it was a funny video 🤷🏻♀️ |
The most unhinged people in America right now are those who relate everything they see to "MAGA!" Its a fascinating phenomenon. |
She got more criticism because we was not British and showed zero interest in adapting herself to her new role in the Royal family. I think she was just naive and didn't fully understand what she was getting herself into (with both the BRF and Harry's mental health) but on the other hand, she also can't seem to let go of her dream of what she thought she was getting. I also suspect she's concerned that Harry similarly had no idea what he was getting into by leaving the Royal Family and moving to California and is worried he regrets what he gave up. In the meantime, the BRF has moved on and gone gray rock on her and Harry, and that drives them both nuts. I think half of what she does is to make money and the other half is to try to provoke a reaction from the Royal Family. The person who said some people who hate her do so because they have relatives like her was spot on. I have a family member who blew up his relationship with his parents and could never take responsibility for his side of the situation. He has spent his life resenting the family and trying to get their attention by acting out in ways that only make things worse (e.g., suing his parents) and now he's permanently disinherited. Its sad, but entirely self inflicted. |

For me, as a behavioral scientist, I see red flags-
The alienation of spouse and children from their extended family - this dissolves any relationship into bitterness and resentment. Always. The near-constant grabs for attention. I can’t think of another celebrity that is constantly spinning everything they do into a publicity stunt and forcing it into our faces. It’s kind of annoying. The delusion of grandeur, with multi-car cavalcade and thinking her food prep is somehow elevated, and narcissistic behavior. It just rings alarms in my head. This particular incident is disappointing because it’s supposed to be her daughter’s birthday and she can’t help but make it all about herself. First post features herself and child, then an afterthought post to include Harry, then oh-why-not here’s a post all about ME! I feel sorry for any child who plays second fiddle. |
