Lilibet’s hair astounds me from a genetic standpoint both in color and texture.

Meghan is at least half white, likely more than half white given her mother's fair skin tone.

DP. She’s not more than half white. It’s crazy to me how many Americans don’t seem to understand the difference between sub-Saharan African ancestry and being black. Almost every non-immigrant black person has a not insubstantial amount of European ancestry because of the widespread sexual violence experienced by enslaved women and later in the south (there’s a great Netflix doc called the rape of recy Taylor that touches on this). So when they have kids it’s a crap shoot. I am black my husband is white I have one kid with super light curly hair who is lighter than Meghan and another who is my complexion with silky straight jet black hair.

DP. Race and ethnicity are not the same thing. It is not unfair to say that MM is more than half-White. That doesn’t make her “less Black”. A lot of older people in my family have 60-75% European ancestry, grew up under Jim Crow, attended HBCUs, fought in the Civil Rights movement, and are unapologetically Black.

Yes, but in this case we were dicussing genetics and hair color of her kids, so arguing about whether she identifies one way or another or if your grandma was a civil rights leader is irrelevant to the discussion.

The fact is, Meghan is far more European white than she is African black, and Harry is very, very European white, so genetically, it is not even a little surprising that their kids are very fair skinned with strawberry blonde hair like their dad. Most likely, Megan also has fair skinned gingers in her background too, just like Harry, which is why they ended up with red haired white kids who from the limited photos look very northern European, and not kids who look more mixed ancestry. Genetics are funny. Fair, pale skin and red head should not be the dominant trait, so Meghan must have that solidly in her genetic background.

I am not even talking about her haters being conservative (because I don’t think that’s a factor for the most part), but it’s the cult-like irrationality. It’s the hypocrisy and blind loyalty to hating her. It’s the rabid behavior.

If you’re reading this as a Markle hater, I ask that you take two minutes to self reflect.

Sorry I agree with the thread above. MM unites republicans and democrats in their dislike.

Hate is a strong word. She triggers me, because I can see my sister-in-law doing so many things from blaming to being fake sweet to spreading false stories.

The dance video itself is pretty inoffensive. However, if my sister-in-law did it, it would be for attention-getting purposes, and I would mute it.

NP. This is weird and unintentionally a good example of what precisely what the other PP is talking about.

I suspect that the reason there is so much crossover between MAGA and the Markle-haters is that it’s an easy transfer of core behaviors that are similar. Essentially it’s an extension of MAGA.

It’s not MAGA to transfer emotions (not behaviors). It’s human. Transference actually underpins an entire part of psycho analysis. In fact, you’re transferring yourself.

Anti-Meghan isn’t anti-democrat. Triggered by Meghan is triggered by Meghan.

I love how the MAGA republicans and casual racists get so triggered by her. I’m not a royal obsessed American but this makes me laugh so hard, I’ve grown to like her more and more.

Well you’ll be surprised when at the next anti-Trump rally, you turn to me expecting kinship and it turns out I’m very much not a Meghan fan.

Most of the people I know who are obsessed with Meghan are often really liberal women with a closet love for everything princessy who were in love with Prince Harry at some point.

The ones who hate her are from all political stripes, from far left to right, but who have the common thread of a sister in law, sister, or daughter in law who went scorched earth against the family to isolate and control the husband, OR they were a victim of a bridezilla type best friend or boss.

The people who hate her have that correlation of being wronged by a person like that. Meghan represents that woman, so it is easy to transfer that hate towards her, instead of expressing it to their own Meghan in real life.

It has nothing to do with politics or maga.

That is just a ridiculous claim. Most maga people don't care enough about her to work up a sweat, unless they fall into that category of people who have experienced real life Meghan types. But those people transcend politics. It truly is a non partisan group.

Exactly.

Almost everyone who hates on Meghan has that commin thread of a nightmare SIL/sister who is oh so sweet in public but a wrecking ball to the family, or a "friend" who is just like Meghan.

+1. The hate comes from the fact that her core story is about her in-law relationship. If she dropped it, she’d be much better off. But she uses it. She claims the Royal Sussex identity. Anyone who’s been burned by an in-law feels that.

Meghan's entire brand is cutting off the inlaws and family in general.

When you make your brand identity cutting off the in laws as publicly and as agly as possible, you are going to draw ire in a way that a normal celebrity does not.

Fair, but Meghan doesn’t have much…. Talent to me. It is like she is seeking a title in most talented at marketing liberal causes culture in the POC SAHM with preschoolers category. And yes, I purposefully made that clunky because she has rebranded herself so many times, it is hard to know who she is. I know that she is good at calligraphy and being at the top of the good cause pyramid.

The dance video is fine- good for her. I just don’t get the rest of her.

She actually should have focused her brand on calligraphy and connecting through writing letters.

Me neither. Maybe at some point you’ll discover I’m not rabid, I’m not MAGA. I’m a normal person who votes Democrat and is a PoC. I have a crazy SIL, and I dislike Meghan.

It is harmless.

Odd to post outside the family …but not raunchy in the least.
