Nobody blasts Hitler for a funny mustache & overstated wardrobe because there are SERIOUS things about him to criticize.

J6 goes without saying.

The need to invoke J6 on a thread about Biden’s very serious problems is the most idiomatic cope by the lame DCUM Democrats.

Pay attention to what might convince millions of voters with lives different from yours, not the big $$$ Democrats who parrot J6 as a distraction from their own party’s failures.

I am an independent. I'm willing to wait for the Dems to figure out what they're doing and who their candidate is before I vote in November. But there is nothing the Republicans can do before November to make J6 go away. Besides pick a different candidate, which they are not doing.

Former President Trump’s running mate only joined the U.S. Senate in 2023, but in that short period of time he has taken multiple actions to address the border crisis, including sponsoring the Secure the Border Act to address asylum fraud, parole abuse, mandate E-Verify and criminalize visa overstays.

These policy changes would achieve Barbara Jordan’s vision of a credible immigration system.

Echoes of Barbara Jordan

In his acceptance speech Wednesday night at the Republican National Convention, Vance sounded a whole lot like the late Democrat Barbara Jordan.

“America is not just an idea,” Vance said. “It is a group of people with a shared history and a common future. It is, in short, a nation.”

If Democrats stayed with their position on immigration from the 90s, I doubt Trump would have the foothold he has. He won on the issue in 2016 and will win on it again in 2024. That's why Biden is scrambling to do something on the issue now.

If an attempt to overturn our election is something most Americans don't care about, then, well, our problems are bigger than which party wins the election.

I guess everyone has forgotten that Trump actually did this at the beginning of his presidency and it was disastrous. The lack of migrant at workers was crippling and he had to stop.

If the Republicans stayed with their position on immigration from the 80s (pro-legalization) immigration would be another legislative issue that would have been solved by now. Instead they've decided not to govern.

We all know (or should know) that Trump doesn't follow through on any of his promises, nor does he have real positions. He just has blather and smoke and mirrors. He's a know-nothing do-nothing politician.

DP. We all lived the Trump administration so trying to rewrite history for us isn’t going to fly. The border was better controlled under Trump, period. If Biden had governed as a centrist on the border alone, he would be in a different position now with independents. Trying to suggest the border is a losing issue for Trump is a fool’s errand.

If you think J6 (writ large to include everything that went into it and continues to evolve from it) is just a distraction, you are a part of the problem. It's everything. It is the primary thing motivating most non-Trump voters.

Reagans amnesty is why we are where we are today. Granting mass amnesty will only attract more people to rush the border to wait for the next amnesty. Look at what happened after DACA was announced in late 2012. By 2014 we had a full blown child migrant crisis where people were selling their children to smugglers and unrelated adults or just dropping them off at the border hoping they could get in.

Biden promoted masks for years.

He should wear one

And stay out of sight for 14 days.

That is the worst possible thing for him to do.

He needs to be very visible from now until November.

The debate showed he was extraordinarily weak.
The assassination attempt showed Trump was a fighter in an emergency.
Covid shows Biden is frail.

It's over. He has to hand the nomination to Harris.

Name one thing Trump has ever done for the American people?

J6 pales in importance next to the GWOT, Iraq War 2.0, GFC, fentanyl, Gaza, and probably Russiagate (GWOT and MIC in drag) and whole bunch of other crap as deep and persistent problems for voters. J6 was an easily quashed joke that revealed deep managerial incompetence on the Hill (big surprise, not!). The Democrats hype J6 because they are playing cynical games, including with their own voters.

Perhaps employers should pay a living wage. Including to Americans. If they didn't attract workers then the pay wasn't high enough.

Secured the border
Fast tracked the Covid vaccine
SCOTUS judges

Just to name a few.
