An acting has been announced. Edwards is chief of district operations and Hull is the chief operating officer. Edwards is one of the offices that reports to him. Hull is deputy level. |
One rumor among many in MCPS is that JB also had an affair with Edwards which was common knowledge to folks like McKnight |
They need to investigate the teachers that were pushed out during the principal coverups incidents. |
A quicker way to say half dozen is six. It means the same thing but is easier to say and spell. |
Were any pushed out? Are there any facts to substantiate this gossip? |
Sure, but I'm far more concerned with these gross exagggerations. |
It would be great if the union who we as teachers pay money to supported us instead of the bosses but maybe that would be asking too much. |
I feel the union does a great job supporting us. When many parents were insisting that school remain open during the deadly pandemic, the inion put teachers lives first. |
What do you expect the union to do here? MCEA reported the teaching bullying to MCPS…including emails that were exchanged earlier with MCPS alerting MCPS and the BOE about the bullying allegations. MCPS Uniserv directors worked with the teachers to present their complaints to MCPS. MCPS bureaucrats ignored the allegations and covered up for each other. Teachers were, and are still, afraid to report abuse because they fear retaliation. Using the “anonymous” avenues to complain isn’t an easy solution because the principals can quickly figure out who filed the complaint based on the details in the complaint. The fear is real and warranted.

When doing end of the year layoffs of teachers do an inventory to see if any teachers on the chopping block had rape victims or assailants or both as students. That might give insight to mcps cutting teachers who know too much or because they report the information as they are instructed. |

New teachers don't know about the nuanced ways of the veterans who know reporting is the rule but it will also put you on the sht list with mgmt. |
If teachers can't have protection when teaching classes with violent offenders how are we suppose to be reporters when putting negative data on the books is frowned upon by mgmt who want to look good for their bosses. It's a conflict of interest that is punitive on the teachers so admin will always be promoted as an ends(manipulating data) always justifies the means(getting rid of untenured teachers that don't know the mcps dance routine). |
Why would that matter? Teachers get raises based on years of service. |
You will not make it to tenure if you report the things that are your duty to report. That is a way it is set up to not support teachers. They have to say that you are a mandatory reporter. You don't understand that reporting is frowned upon until you are being let go because before 3 years of tenure you have no support or rights to aa contract. This is what's called "conflict of interest". There is a public interest to report grades, violence, etc. If it leads to teachers being let go if they report the consequences do not align with teachers being diligent reporters. |
