MFers want women barefoot and pregnant

A phrase that never totally captures the desperation of what that era was like for women. The frantic feeling of realizing you’re pregnant again, remembering the worst symptoms from each pregnancy, knowing your husband isn’t going to materially help. Just when they got their heads above water…

This makes me want to cry. Do Americans really want to go back to this era? We need a blue wave.

I don’t think Americans do want to go back to this. But I also know that dark money pays for a lot of online obfuscation (does birth control have side effects? Hell yes, sometimes it does! That’s why we have multiple options for it!) and for a lot of trying to change the subject (first it was Afghanistan, then it was inflation, now it’s Gaza but I can guarantee ya that Trumpublicans would be or already was worse on these issues. The subject changing of course manages to ignore that aspect).

My great grandmother died at 29 after having 8 children in 11 years. 3 of the last 4 babies died as infants. All three male infants died. The only one that survived was a girl

This is really glib. There is a whole generation of women's lives about to be ruined.

Because it’s never going to happen. This isn’t like reversing Roe. On what legal basis could they do this? And this would be ridiculously unpopular across the country.

The anti-abortionists view the pill as an abortifacient. That’s how.

Also it “makes women better than nature” because who can have that.

Just so we’re all clear this 👆guy voted to decertify president Biden’s election.
His education is limited to 1 year of technical college in the 80’s. He’s a friggin moron and he wants to not only ban abortion, but wants to ban the pill.
That guy. That’s the guy with power. Oh he also said demons were in the walls of the state house.

Curious to see how this guy will do in the next election with maps that aren’t gerrymandered up the wazoo in favor of Republicans.

Republicans have increasingly weird responses to things lately. For example, all the elected Republicans who made the Arizona decision possible but are now acting like they find it personally abhorrent.

OP here.

I don’t think you need to play footsie anymore with your candidate actually saying this now:

I think we can pull the bandaid off now. The Republican Party supports banning birth control.

Here in VA, Gov. Youngkin recently vetoed a bill focused on protecting access to contraceptives.

It's an end game to get cheap labor, of course many Republicans want to ban birth control. They can let the evangelicals and conservative Catholics think it's about religion, but it's really not.
