Big story in WSJ on violent crime in DC

This thread was about violent crime but it’s been hijacked by the bike people.

The teensy, tiny number of white people involved in traffic crashes always seems to trump the far larger number of black people affected by violent crime, doesn’t it?

I'm sure you won't care in the slightest, but just so you know, anybody with more than two brain cells to rub together easily sees right through your sad, low-effort trolling.

Don’t you know- white people on bikes are entitled to EVERY space? Even in discussions.

The are apparently entitled to be the main character of every discussion, even one’s primarily about gun violence against Black teens.

Hey Adam Schaffer how about you crawl back into your parents Palisades basement now, mmkay? The only one making this about bikes is you bud. The family that got nearly run over in the crosswalk was clearly on their feet.

Most of the crimes in DC, including the vast majority of felonies and all violent crime, are prosecuted by the federal US Attorney's Office, not the (elected) local DC Attorney General.

So what brilliant minds running DC have decided to sacrifice tourism revenue in the name of "let's not talk about crime?"

It does not go over well outside of DC to have even the posh touristy areas be completely unsafe.

Then, they need to change the statement on their website:
"The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is the chief legal office of the District of Columbia. The Office enforces the laws of the District, defends and provides legal advice to the District’s government agencies and protects the interests of the District’s residents. OAG’s goal is to be the nation’s most effective and respected public law office."

"Adam Schaffer" does not live in a Palisades basement. I'm reasonably convinced he is a living, breathing Russian troll.

Crime in the DC area is out of control.

Time for a change.

Serious question: what will it take for Congress to replace Matthew Graves.

On top of all the terrible things happening all over the District, there was an armed robbery a block away from my place last night, and I’m in a “safe” neighborhood. I’m sick and tired of out of control crime, and if the Council can’t take action, then Congress needs to take control.

And I bet you are dismissing the truth of the problem because you don't like the messenger.
Says more about your bias than theirs.

Problem exists but there is an active effort going on to magnify it and creat a negative hype. I don't know if right is behind it , some foreign gov or real estate grabbers but its there.
