Why does every tourist have a backpack

Anonymous
Everyone carries a backpack now don't you know? I mean you see every sized pack on market from designers. Slings, packs, I feel like people into it v purses. I think you see it everywhere as a result. It's less why a pack and more how is a pack better than a shoulder/tote/purse.

You're like these people who absolutely defends their decisions because they just HAVE to be right. No one cares about your Swiss army knife, pepto bismol, mini light, folded tote carrying husband and dehydrated children.

Good for you. I don’t think you are wrong for carrying a backpack. I don’t care how you you travel. I just don’t see the point of it. This is a discussion board. Why does everyone harp on the pepto part? If I had just said medicine would it be a big deal. My husband has an issue with some food ingredients, so he should just ignore it? He doesn’t carry a Swiss Army knife. You literally can not tell he has anything in his pockets. No one has been dehydrated.

On the dehydration part. For those that carry a water bottle you still need to refill your water bottle. So you get a whopping 16-32 oz of water more than me before your first stop for water? Even assuming I have not stopped at all for water, dehydrating from that difference in intake.

I apologize if I missed it, but please, please, please link to these magical non-cargo-shorts-shorts that can carry medicine, a flash light, folded tote, and non-book reading material without being seen.

*Pepto not included

Because tourists are carrying all kinds of things. Wallets. Passports. Water bottles. A change of clothing, maybe. Hats. Stuff for their kids if they have them (kids love to treat their parents like a sherpa, carry this mom). Sunscreen. Snacks. Hats. A sweatshirt if the AC inside is like the Arctic. Small things they don't want to leave in the hotel room. A foldable umbrella or ponchos.

The list goes on.

The flashlight he uses is Nitecore Tini, the tote is a Kaxich Foldable, the medicine is 4 chewable tablets, the non book reading material is typical something we grabbed during the day or a train map on a wall, a menu outside a restaurant that has bad lighting, or a street sign on an unlit street etc.

I posted a link to pants he typically wears earlier. Thought many thought they were too tight. And the model's may be tight, DH buys appropriately sized/non tight pairs.

I love how OP thinks these requests are real.

What is wrong if someone wants to wear a backpack or carry a sling? I usually dress nicely if I'm traveling in a city - slacks or a nice dress. Where do you put even your phone and wallet without a purse or bag? You are so silly and judgmental.

How am I am being judgmental. I can think something is odd without being judgmental.
My point is I have zero interest in carrying around a bag while walking around a city. I dress similarly to you, I carry my phone and that is it. Phone case holds three cards, never needed more.

You actually just hold your phone in your hands when you're dressed for dinner or a night out? I doubt you dress similarly to me because I don't have dresses with industrial pockets. You don't need a tampon or lip balm? You don't carry foreign currency when you're traveling? Or your passport when you're buying things? This is amazing to me.

Well I can tell you what I don’t carry in my backpack every day - pepto, glasses wipe, flashlight.

Does your husband know that his phone has a flashlight???
