You sound precious. |
Water bottles, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, snacks, hat, battery pack.
It’s not that hard to understand why some people like travelling with backpacks. |
I think we need a catchall thread for:
Why do others do this (completely reasonable thing if I take a second to think about others needs) thing I have decided is distasteful for no discernable reason? |
Vision of lumpy OP and husband bulging all over with stuffed pockets, all to avoid looking like mOronS with bAckPacks! Thanks for the laugh, OP. |
I would hate to stuff all that crap in my pockets!
Good for you for never needing to leave the house with a water bottle, rain jacket, sunscreen, reusuable bags for shopping. I carry a large sling in my everday life, as well as when traveling. |

This. OP is basically arguing for cargo pants over backpacks. No thank you! |
Dora the Explorer always had her backpack. |
+1 The internet clearly demonstrates humanity's limitations. |
You can't imagine that someone doesn't want to stuff their pockets with flash lights, Pepto and tote bags?
In our case, it's for an Epi-pen and Benadryl due to my son's severe allergies. Is that ok with you? |
This. How big is your husband that his pockets are big enough to fit all this crap. He must look *interesting*. |
We usually carry a backpack when we're out for the day in DC, where we live. Jackets or umbrellas if we expect to need them, a water bottle, maybe a snack or two, and room for any purchases we might make. We're the same on vacation. |
Why do people take the train? Why don't they drive their BMWs everywhere like we do? |
No water? |
I need sun protection and often dress in layers. I don’t like wasting money or creating trash by buying water. I don’t like to carry things in my hands or have full pockets. |
