It will be interesting who the jury finds more believable - him and his witness or her and the ski instructors.

I feel like if she was at fault she would’ve settled. Seems like she’s trying to push back on principle since she counter sued for $1.

Counter suing for $1 was a smart thing to do.

+1

Can you explain the point of the counter suit? Just $1 to show she's not after money but just wants the truth? Or is there more to it that I don't understand?

That's it. She is resisting the shakedown, showing that for her it's not about the money.

There’s more though. It allows her to seek reimbursement for attorney costs.

Whatever she did to her eyes is throwing it all. It looks like she made her small squinty eyes more open so now she just looks like Mr magoo without glasses 😐

I would settle and say we agree to disagree but the energy from the back and forth is not worth it. I would then move on with my hot husband and make more weirdly fascinating products.

Her husband is not attractive AT ALL. Spare me the 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' escapist argument . Then again , only similarly ugly dcumers would find him remotely good looking .

One of the court tv talking heads said that Sanderson didn’t want to settle and he’s been singularly focused on bringing her to trial

Yes it’s pretty clear he is fixated on blaming her for all his life’s woes. I actually do believe she is the one that hit him due to his injuries, but he should have accepted that bad things can happen when you ski and moved on. I ski 40-50 days a year, and I’m always worried about collisions. Deer valley, in particular, is not my favorite place because the runs are groomed so well that people fly down the hill much faster than they would on less immaculate slopes.

This might have been covered in 16 pages but…

300k is a rounding error for someone like goop. She’s either innocent and will counter sue for damages (if she hasn’t already- not following closely) or she’s guilty and this is a PR case for her and she knows she can afford better litigators to maintain her innocence. Don’t know why she wouldn’t just settle if the latter.

Publicity stunt to brand herself as a victim. She’s such a shameless and thirsty joke.

You’re such a hypocrite. If someone in a new Range Rover bumps into your car you’d probably be the first to throw on a neck brace and call a lawyer.

He refuses to settle, she can't settle it on her own as the defendant. She is countersuing for $1 to make a point. He sued for 3 million, the judge knocked it down to 300k. This is not PR for her, you can tell she doesn't want to be there.

His own daughter says he's obsessed with this case. It's been dragging on for 7 years. He initially tried suing everyone. The ski instructor, the resort, other employees, but that was all dismissed, because, hey, it's skiing an inherently dangerous sport. The jury might just find they are both equally at fault just to be done with it.

I can watch it in Canada and we have way more restrictions on what we can view. Maybe it's a setting on your device?

I just watched it -- pretty gutsy, dangerous driving.

I thought GP did pretty well testifying. The cross-examining female attorney did not really rattle her, get her to change her story, or score many points, IMO. I feel like the ski instructors' testimony will be important. I questioned the credibility of the witness (Ramone?) higher up on the hill who allegedly saw GP hit Terry Sanderson.

Having lived in three other countries, I can safely say that americans' knee jerk reflex of looking for people to sue for bad stuff often ruins their own lives. You watched too much people's court as a kid.
