You people are delusional. Do you know why King was in Memphis when a conservative murdered him? He was supporting a strike by sanitation workers who were demanding higher wages and safer working conditions. |
You mean when a California DEMOCRAT and serial criminal murdered him? Perhaps we should let violent criminals rot in prison instead of releasing them so they can murder someone else, don't you think? |
Sure, King was a total conservative. His economics bill of rights is practically out of the chicago school |
Just like the "no answers" we get when Ds insist the GOP "holds back/discriminates against black people" but then can give zero examples of such when called on it. DP |
A GOP elections commissioner in Wisconsin was just bragging about how great it was that they suppressed the minority vote in Milwaukee in 2022. There are links earlier in this thread. |
+1 there are literally thousands of examples. PP looks like either a clueless fool or a liar. |
Show me a Republican who's demanding higher wages and safer working conditions. Today's conservatives share virtually none of the values that Rev. King poured his life's work into. He believed in the dignity and self-worth of every individual, whereas Republicans look down on the poor, the sick, the elderly, refugee and migrants. For any current Republican to liken themselves to Dr. King is a sick, sick joke. |
Republicans would sooner stiff the workers on wages and cut corners making the workplace less safe just so that the CEO can buy a second yacht. #FACTS Sorry but this whole "black conservatives" thread has been pure cringe. |
Trump delivered higher wages and safer working conditions. Obama just "demanded" them while making things worse. MLK would have noticed the difference. You should too. |
James Ray Earl was a democrat. He was a volunteer for the George Wallace campaign. |
Soiuthern Dixiecrat. They joined the GOP during Nixon's Southern Strategy. Learn history. |
The disdain you have for people of color who don’t think like you is remarkable |
Yet more delusional fictions. Trump deeply undermined worker safety, worker protections and consumer protections, and wages for the working class DID NOT see higher wages delivered.
You keep embarrassing yourself with this nonsense. |
You seriously failed at reading comprehension if what you walked away with is "disdain for people of color." |
There is no record of James Earl Ray being a "democrat." Yes, he was a segregationist who supported Wallace, but remember, Wallace split from the Democrats over segregation, and formed the American Independence Party. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Independent_Party Historically both parties had problems, both had uneven and inconsistent support for civil rights versus inconsistent support for segregation. But in the 1960s, the Democrats who still supported segregation split off and joined with anti-civil-rights conservatives to fight civil rights and are no longer Democrats. With JFK and after, it was the Democrats, NOT the Republicans, who carried out the legacy of MLK. https://medium.com/everyvote/how-the-republicans-and-democrats-switched-on-civil-rights-in-5-racist-steps-92c1b41480b |
