LOL

Fresh spinach is just as bad as french fries and pizza. Little known fact.

I did not know that fresh spinach is bad for you. I have it in my smoothies. Can you enlighten me?

Drinking a smoothie is just as bad as drinking a Diet Pepsi.

No it’s not. Unless it’s the prepackaged ones with HFCS or added sugar. I make my own with spinach or kale, banana, and various fruits. Throw in random things like PB, oats, or ginger.

Sorry, I was just making a stupid, not-funny joke. A smoothie is way better than a diet pepsi any day.

NP. Don’t apologize! I got your joke

There’s just so many insane people on here these days that the PPs thought you were serious

Well now this is false, hands down.

Not really. You're just in denial.

You know you're crazy when something natural and full of vitamins is considered "just as bad as" soda.

I agree with this. When you drink your fruit, rather than eating it, you lose the most nutricious parts. It's like drinking sugar water. Perhaps better than Coca Cola with all the chemicals, but not by much.

But "picky eating" is caused by shitty parenting 99% of the time.

I used to think this until I had an insanely picky eater. She’s borderline ASD and it’s common for kids and adults with that issue. It’s incredibly aggravating as I eat and cook everything. I have spent so much of my time attempting to expand her palate and every once in a while I find something she’ll add in (broiled calamari worked for a while), but it doesn’t always stick.

What is borderline ASD? Who diagnoses this?

It’s not a diagnosis. Her diagnosis from the expensive neuropsych many years ago was anxiety, depression and ADHD. Many of her therapists have suggested she meets many of the diagnostic criteria for ASD and I should get the neuropsych re-done by someone who specializes in how girls present. I haven’t done that, as I’m not sure the benefit. But it’s a spectrum disorder so there are certainly cases that are on the borderline of the diagnostic criteria. Anyway, there’s a lot of stuff she won’t eat.

I love your devotion to decadence but this is an abomination.

Can’t stand peanut butter in anything sweet: cookies, ice cream candy. (Hate Reese’s.). It’s fine as a savory food, on toast or in a Thai peanut sauce. But keep it out of my dessert!

Nobody. You are not borderline ASD. That’s not a thing. You’re either on the spectrum or you’re not.

IPAs taste terrible and too many craft beers have gross artificial flavors in them. Peanut butter stout- I'm looking at you! A nice stout totally ruined.

Trader Joe's has gone really downhill in the past 5 years. They used to be a place where you could find some great unique products. Now they crank out quick seasonal fad products to line shelves, while discontinuing specialty items.

I know there's be the usual person chiming in to say that TJs was always overrated. But I really think it went downhill in terms of product starting 5+ years ago.

I agree. But I do like the grapefruit lager on a hot day.

Would love to hear which products you miss.

(Full disclosure, TJ's is someplace I hit maybe 4 times a year, so I always find some unique things to buy when I go.)
