Unpopular driving opinions?

Use your turn signals.
Turn on your headlights when your wipers are on. (Md law)
If you’re towing anything, use the slow lane.
Turn on your headlights at night. I’ve seen too many drivers relying on daytime driving lights and have no illuminated tail lights. (JFC)
If you know a car is attempting to merge and you can safely move over, do it.
Yield means yield.

If you're towing and the slow lane is also the exit/merge lane, use the next lane tip the left. Unless that is the leftmost lane, then that lane is for passing and faster cars. But towing vehicles should not be in the exit or rightnost lane because of their length and also the stopping distance required

Every driver should be given water balloons to throw at idiot bikers blocking whole lanes during rush hour.

VA drivers are just as shitty as MD drivers. Only difference is VA cops aggressively go after the dumb ones.

Depending on the road's speedlimit, that is what is required by law. Pedestrians automatically have the right-of-way on roads with certain speed limits. Additionally, most residential roads don't have crosswalks.

I don't buy the "safer" argument, because people are still walking through the parking lot as you're taking forever to back in. I'd argue it's more unsafe, because you spend more time moving your vehicle in a parking lot with moving people. Because backing in takes so damn long.

People who back into spaces are psychopaths.

I'm convinced they do so because they recognize the evil in their hearts. They park like that because they are always looking for the quickest escape. They know - at the core of their being - that they are criminals.

Disagree! Last night, I was on 95, and some guy was lane-surfing. He suddenly was just THERE, tailgating me to the point I couldn't see his headlights, while we were traveling at 70mph.

in parking lots, if you see that somebody is trying to get out of their space, you should let them.

If someone is in the process of backing out of their driveway (as in, they are mostly in the street and transitioning to moving forward) let them finish what they are doing. I’ve seen too many people zoom around these folks. Unsafe.

Driving those super high up trucks and SUVs that have less visibility than a tank should be illegal. And it’s immoral as hell. If you can’t see a damn 6 year old 5 feet in front of your car, you’re a menace to society. Just look at the infographic here.

And they’re so, so common. Terrible.

This is a great idea if pedestrians and cyclists can have them too to h CB ick at drivers blocking lanes, crosswalks, running red lights, not yeliding to pedestrians. Except they should be filled with paint

No it's not. You waving a person across at some random point in a street where there is NO CROSSWALK is going to cause an accident or get the pedestrian killed.

Don’t cross from a left lane into the right most lane on a highway at the same time people are merging into that lane from and entrance ramp. It’s so dangerous. I see it on 395 all the time. WTF are you choosing that moment to change lanes??

Every pedestrian should be given hand grenades to throw at idiot drivers who don’t follow the rules of the crosswalk.

No one should use cruise control, unless there's no one around. If you use cruise control in the DC area, you're an irresponsible jerk.
