She said as board member at GDS she was not aware that they were teaching CRT and is not responsible for setting currriculum. Someone needs to follow up with her and ask her as a board member of GDS now that she has been made aware, what is her opinion on what was being taught at a school where she was on the board? |
Yep. I believed Ford 100%. I knew several Brett Kavanaugh's growing up. They were all pathetic, entitled turds. But, even without that, his little tantrum under pressure, claims of conspiracies, etc. ALONE -and by itself- rendered him unfit for the office he holds. He will forever be a fu---ing disgrace on the bench. |
I thought these qus were BS. However, I would have liked to hear her explain her decision to send them to private school at all - I think that is fair game, since part of her narrative is that her parents were public school teachers and she went to public school. |
DCPS Speaks for itself |
| I predict ZERO Republican votes in the senate for Judge Jackson. Next time, Democrats should nominate and confirm with only Democratic votes a very liberal judge for the SCOTUS. Let the Republican judiciary committee members and Republican senators whine until the cows come home. Anyway, they will not vote for a Democratic nominee. |
What, they could send their kids to top DCPS schools with their budget. |
Oh come one. It's the same reason lots of public school advocates in government send their kids private - privacy, security, and able to better control who has access to their kid(s). But you already know that. |
| The hypocrites here find fault with Judge Jackson sending her kids to GDS. what about you? How many of you live in D.C. and send your kids to public schools, especially if you have HHI similar to that of a successful surgeon and Federal Judge couple? |
A) Is GDS a public school? (I don't know the answer to that but, since you're such an expert, I assume you do). B) CRT is not the same as religiously held beliefs on abortion for Catholics. As another poster explained, and having been raised Catholic, I can tell you that person is correct: There is no gray area on that issue for practicing Catholics. |
How does a high budget determine which public school your child goes to? They may live in the best part of town but the schools are still overcrowded. Are you suggesting they could have bribed someone? I have no problem with people sending their children to private school. It’s when they start tearing down publics that they seem hypocritical. Like Cruz. |
She might get a vote from Susan Collins, who loves to cast an inconsequential vote the Democrats' way so she can keep pretending that she's a pragmatic moderate centrist. |
I am very liberal and love her, but I think it a choice that reflects something -and it is fair game to ask her about it. The security thing after the murder of Judge Salas's son I think would be an acceptable answer. That was Obama's answer - he was asked about it, too. |
My self-awareness is just fine. Perhaps in another thread we can discuss just how much fun it is to be a Black woman with a seat at the table. You’re so busy viewing everything through your political lens that you’re missing quite a lot. Carry on though, I’m sure you’re fine with it. |
Security, for sure. But GDS is in some ways a pretty distinct private school and especially attractive to Black and mixed-race families in the DC area, who likely have considerations beyond simply the "quality" of education when choosing a school |
