We are not out of the woods yet to be sure.

On Kojo today, Chairman Mendo said the Council will debate the bill next week.

(Virtually, of course. Because they don't go to work.)

I am beginning to truly truly hate Robert white. Like we aren’t stressed enough? He’s gotta try jerking us around? Plus case rates are rapidly declining. It’s just garbage posturing at this point.

I don’t support this bill, but I also wouldn’t say cases are rapidly declining. Hopefully we see that soon though.

I’m looking here: https://coronavirus.dc.gov/key-metrics

Cases are declining rapidly on a per capita basis.

Of course they look like they’re declining when the city forces 60,000 to get tested last week and doesn’t this week.

That’s definitely promising. Is the positivity rate declining though? Also are the majority of the rapids being reported if we are looking at case rates? I haven’t had a chance to look, but we are probably in a much better place if the answer is yes to both of those questions.

I’m sorry your stressed. Ask some teachers what school buildings have been like this week. Particularly those outside of your normal bubble. It’s been one of the hardest weeks of my year and I feel like the kids got barely any instruction. Different teachers out on a daily basis, students being pulled for positive tests.

That isn’t the way it has been at my school. Teachers have been consistent, positive case announcements declines to pre-omicron. The prospect of someone not familiar with my school deciding what to do seems exactly what all the teachers don’t want.

Yes, as long as your child is getting a good experience who really cares? I’m just glad you all are finally admitting it

Look, someone presents an anecdote that I don’t know is generalizable. That person, and you, can easily be thinking that your experience is universal. It isn’t. You might be just as myopic as you accuse others of being.

Cases aren't rapidly declining. There was a mad rush to test before the Christmas holiday because people were traveling, there's not nearly as much of an incentive now. Try again.

No? Look at the actual data.

So you are saying the omicron surge was caused by….pre-holiday testing? You seem insane.

This need to dismiss data is reall profound and truly Trumpian.

lol wasn’t trump the one telling us that testing was making us look bad? and here you are, using the same argument. Incredible persistence. truly impressiv work

“tests were high bc we tested a lot and now low bc we test less and this is incontrovertible proof that cases are still high” wow what logic so good an I really appreciate the way u no how to think

Whelp so much for any rational debate…

Positivity rates were declining in the mayor's most recent situational update as well as case rates. The last two days there was an uptick though. Hard to tell but obviously we are all hoping for the famous peak to happen. Even if it is does though case rates will still be high for a while. What we need in schools is more testing.

The anti Trump nut again. Move along and take a look at the data. It’s a line graph - you should be able to read it.

Yes, but if you require tests of 60000 people one week and don’t the next…

Yeah, I’m saying the line graph clearly shows a majority drop. That people need to write this off is the thing that is Trumpian.
