Karl Frisch and the Stupidity of Dunn Loring ES

No such document has ever been posted, nor is Dunn Loring near the areas in Tysons that are growing. Instead, it’s surrounded by schools in Vienna that are under capacity and aren’t projected to grow much. Any “bigger plan” will be an after-the-fact exercise to justify a project that, if needed anywhere, was better suited to a different location.

It’s an interesting choice of words because someone who has been in office for 4 years ought to be able to point to past accomplishments and say “I hope I have earned your vote.”

But Frisch can’t do this, so I guess we can all pretend he’s a first-time candidate with the best of intentions.

What? "I hope I can earn your vote" is what all candidates say. They don't want to be cocky and sound like they are entitled to your vote.

Nope. They point to past accomplishments, if they have any, and show they are humble by saying “I hope” that “I have earned your vote” so as to not sound presumptuous. Frisch’s problem is that he can’t point to past achievements that would warrant a vote of continued confidence.

Here that is. His accomplishment list is too big that you can't fit it in a 30 second ad. https://www.karlfrisch.com/record/

He also had no problem shutting schools extensively because he didn’t want his spouse to work in person. He couldn’t even pretend to care for the kids when we most needed him.

Vote him out!

I had planned on voting for Tony Sabio until I was told by a neighbor he raffled a firearm during his campaign. Not just a firearm, but an AK-47. If this is true, he wasn’t trying hard to get the vote of central folks.

If true, it still didn’t waste $60 million in taxpayer money.

Vote Frisch OUT!

As a reminder, only one of these candidates is wasting $60 million in taxpayer money (and that could go up) on a totally unnecessary school that will carve up many of the ES in the Marshall pyramid in a few years just to justify the giant waste of money.

He told me he would investigate and get back to me. He never got back to me. A school board member should be available to help parents with specific problems a family is facing with the school the child attends. It seems from many of the comments in this thread that he has a history of not listening to parents or working with parents to resolve specific problems in their schools. He should be voted out for that reason alone.

This is not an issue you bring to the school board, it's an issue you bring to the executive principal and/or assistant superintendent for your region.

I disagree. Karl Frisch has claimed in the past that he wants people to let him know about issues going on in the schools in his district. This was an issue that affected not just my student but more than 50 students. When he says he will follow up with a constituent, he should make good on his promise, which he didn't. And, I did also contact the assistant superintendent.

"Creatively Addressing Overcrowding
Karl sponsored a successful proposal to build a new elementary school on existing system property in Dunn Loring – a move that saved money and will ease overcrowding in the fast-growing Tysons periphery for years to come."

He is right that this site is on the "Tysons periphery," insofar as the site is not in Tysons. It's misleading to call it a "fast-growing area." In fact, Dunn Loring is surrounded by multiple under-enrolled elementary schools that are projected to remain under-enrolled for years and are in areas that include few residential housing applications.

There is growth further east but if they build at Dunn Loring it means schools that should be built elsewhere won't get built because there will be such a glut of space in Vienna/Dunn Loring. That will mean longer bus rides for students and a lack of amenities in other areas that need them to enhance a sense of community.

Karl and his buddies also misled community residents by suggesting this school would be a rehab of the charming old Dunn Loring school building constructed in the 1930s. Instead, the plan is now to tear it down entirely.

Frisch is the type of dolt who drives people out of the public schools and leads others to lose trust in public officials.

Couldn't care less about what some group to which Sabio belongs is auctioning off. School Board members don't establish state firearms policies anyway.

Do care about Karl Frisch lying about his contributions as a School Board member and wasting tens of millions of taxpayer funds on a school in Dunn Loring no one wants that will screw up the surrounding school communities (esp. Stenwood and Freedom Hill) and delay Tysons from getting a new ES it deserves.

He is running for school board and raising money by auctioning off assault rifles that kill kids. That is a huge concern.

And btw remember, it was only a couple of years ago that the school board banned guns at administrative centers Gatehouse. If Anthony is elected, will he reverse that decision?
