Both are true. Schools were closed last year and even in normal years ACPS is at best average and in some cases unaccredited. That is until VA Democrats changed the standard to accreditation to still “failing but at least making some progress”. What ACPS’ slogan actually means.

If you’re not one of those “teachers”, that wanted to go back in person, good. Unfortunately many of your peers and your union and their political lackeys disagree. They are discrediting the profession with non performance and now not even showing up.

They’re not showing up? Or, they’re showing up each day but sometimes taking a day off when needed which is a benefit of their job and one in yours that you use as well? Get a grip.

Some of us come from a mission first background. Teachers get 2-3 months off a year. Stop complaining.

I think you’re jealous. Regretting your career choices? It’s not too late. I’m a career switcher myself.

Mmmm...my mission is my family first, friends second, and teaching....well teaching is a job for me, nothing more and nothing less. It is probably way down past 100 on the list. I'm great at it and I love it but it is still just a job. My family is my first priority and my mission.

I always love the big talkers. Their ego runs everything they do. They don't realize that teachers with egos that big don't last long. So, please, if you and your bravado want to be mission first and teach, then come do it. I'll give you $1,000 if you make it a month.

Your job tricked you into believing it is the most important thing in your life by calling itself a “mission.” You got got by propaganda. I’m glad you consider your mission the number one priority in your life but let’s be real: it’s a job. A job.

Some of us have “jobs” that matter to society. I don’t expect someone who thinks a teacher, who supposedly is important to society, can then act like it doesn’t matter. But you’re right. Most people are no value added to society, and the world wouldn’t miss them. Might even be better off.

Your post made me laugh so hard I spit out my coffee.

Let me get this right... You are simultaneously arguing that "most people are no value added to society" while also saying that you're so important that "some of us have 'jobs' that matter to society"? So you're proud of doing something for people whom you don't respect or value? Okaaaaaaay.

One of the PPs called it right. Your ego and bravado have given you a God Complex that has blinded you to any reason.

Only military dudes and cops think they have an ability to determine who is or isn’t a “value add” to society or that their job gives them the right to make that call.

This!! Parents like this want to insult and bully and say teachers are certified in coloring, but then want to demand that they educate their children never taking a sick or personal day. So ignorant and laughable! They are the same parents who can't be bothered to teach their children that kindness truly matters-so teachers have to teach that all day too!

Not the best response when the forum moderator is a 5 ft. 5 inch male. Not that I'm sensitive about it or anything. But at this point I think the thread is far enough off-topic to lock.
