They do them in waves, starting in November or so. That said, it is normally to high stats people... those stats are pretty average. My DD was accepted in early January with a 4.44 and a 30 ACT with a merit scholarship.

People that applied early/mid October have been getting acceptances this week

I’m the PP who’s DD’s first choice is Clemson. She would have done ED if they offered it. Are all the acceptances so far very high stats? Is 3.3 even in the running?

If it’s an unweighted 3.3 she probably has a chance

Thank you! We are praying and now I’m going to tell her to get the application in. Her counselor told her to wait until after she had 12th grade grades which are all A’s. I wish they did ED. Thanks for responding.

Be prepared to send in extra transcripts for with her first semester grades this year if necessary

Yeah that is why her counselor told her to wait. This way they will see the upward trend. It’s really hard to get in! I guess no different when I went to UVA in the late 80’s. It was pretty easy back then. My next question is do these school actually look at everything on the transcript? What about essays/statements? I hope they read her statement. She has good recommendations and extracurriculars.

Also worth noting that their engineering school requires higher stats.

Applied 10/24
1340 SAT
3.7 GPA

Congrats!

Thanks! Nice to have one acceptance - makes it much less stressful to wait for others to come in.

Congrats. My DD went to visit in October and was impressed. Said the people were very friendly and the campus was nice. The area off not so much… But that’s nothing that hasn’t been discussed on this forum. Apparently an awesome school. Stupid question, but did they email you or did you just happen to check your portal on your own?

Not trying to be a downer but maybe it’s not only about its location but some programs too. I just saw this.

Looks like that refers to the graduate school of business. I don't think that should taint any undergraduate programs. And to be honest, don't you think many schools try to game the ratings systems? It is sad that colleges and universities have to waste resources to promote how they look in US News when they could be actually focusing on educating their current students.
