Keep thinking that. So far from the truth. |

DC United is a terrible academy. They should be pulling talent from regional youth players. The talent in this region should make it one of the top programs in the entire country. Poor scouting and recruiting! It's a shame the academy is run like a glorified rec program!
Hopefully once Pro-Rel is implemented in the United States, with USL Division One league (around 2027 or 2028), it will put some fire under the feet of DC United (and MLS' in general). |
And no one is stalking children and parents. NOW who is exaggerating??? Just responding on this thread with real information about DCU that is not in the public domain. |
A fool and his money are soon parted. AMIRIGHT? Mine is at another academy, not having to pay 10k. Some monthly pocket money is my expense. We're not stalking children, we're discussing how badly DCUA needs an overhaul. Hell, all of DCU. Crazy that we have such a shit show of an academy for an area like the DMV. It's so bad that professionals outside the area are recognizing it. |
DC UNITED IS A GREAT ACADEMY |
This is true. They will send your kid to a great college on an academic scholarship that'll cover half the tuition. That 10k will pay off! |
Your kid is at another MLS academy (that also sends less than 0.3%) to professional ranks yet you're spending all this time focused on what another academy is doing? Why? Also, how do you know the development status and track of each individual player at the academy. From the day they arrived to where they are today? Or you're just using the word development indiscriminately out of context? |
Are you providing loans? Anyone asking you for cash? |
Why? Because if DCU was halfway decent, I wouldn't have had to ship my kid across the country, he could have lived at home. And by your logic, if an academy from Europe came calling, we should turn it down because they also send less than 1% to pro ranks. Laughable. That kid Cavan should just stay in Philadelphia right. What a fool for going to Man City academy! |
There isn't a single academy in America that is giving top tier European or South American academy opportunities as an organization. You going to another MLS academy is a different experience with mainly the same results as DC. College or low level pro. You can try to fool the ignorant with your word salad. |
You're right, every family with a kid in an academy, US or overseas, are fools. Should just play local club and go to college or low pro. |
Why are you paraphrasing incorrectly out of context purposely? PP said American academies give little to slim opportunities for high level professional careers You're lumping in European academies, to which we're sure you have no personal connections or experience. Hyperbole and red herrings don't work against intelligent knowledgeable people |
No it is not. All the DC United teams in MLS Next are failing except the U15 team which is having a good season. |
Academy here, academy overseas, they all have less than 1% chance of going top tier pro. So DCU GUD ENUFF, says the intelligent knowledgeable people. |
Failing what? |
