The Cat 1 academies in Europe and South America once a player makes it to U16 then U18 has higher than 1% chance of top division senior team MLS academy players do not have a 1% chance Its OBVIOUSLY much less, unless the top European leagues are hiding them. Bozo |

You know nothing about youth football. That has been clear for months. You're not connected, you're not an insider, you're learning things from me on this thread. Stick to what you're good at, which is offering nothing to the discussion. Leave the conversation about football to people that have something to say and have some real insight. You haven't added a damn thing to this thread since inception. And you're still not adding any value to the discussion. Just deflection and trying to hide the issue which is DCU IS A BAD MLS ACADEMY. The thing that is so pathetic about your posts is that through it all you've offered not one thread of evidence of how DCU is good. Great job. So basically you just troll this thread trying to throw mud at any argument made against DCU but you can't affirmatively support them. And you can't support them because they in fact cannot credibly be supported. pages and pages of facts have been provided on this thread. No one is here to do any research for you. Find info yourself. Again, your entitled, arrogant and privileged attitude coming through like.clockwork. Unfortunately, you've clearly met your match on this thread and you will not win this argument. In fact, you've lost it so many times already. Sucks to think you know what you're doing and then you find out you don't know sh#t. Hard reality to deal with. When people of means and privilege find out they are disadvantaged in some way, they almost always have a hard time accepting that and do whatever it takes to keep up their facade of privilege. Sounds like you're experiencing envy of this individual and it's driving you into a jealous rage If your child is at a MLS academy that is not DC, why are you so emotional, triggered and invested in all things dcu? They sure got under you skin with your rambling diatribe of a run-on sentence response Gather your thoughts, calm down and try to communicate in a civilized mature way why you're obsessed with other people's children at an academy that has nothing to do with you. |

New poster here. Hi! Hate to burst your bubble but nobody is jealous of DC united's academy. They've got poor performance nationally & rarely, if ever, produce talent of world class quality. Seems like a glorified rec program. Any of the DC United academy kids couldn't hold a candle to any European youth academy, let alone most other MLS academies. Problem is MLS in general is run as a monopolistic country club which prioritizes profit$ over player development. 🤑🤑🤑 Just a mirror of the sad state of US Soccer in general 😢 |

Always amusing to hear the ignorant speak with confidence In your imagination (since you can't go off experience and first hand knowledge) you see academy kids in Europe as walking on water and all performing like Lamine Yamal. There are several kids here that could be in top European academies today The true separation between US teams and European teams start after U16's when speed of play and game tactical understanding comes more into play. |

You need better and consistent coaches nationwide and a philosophy and style of play across the entire system. U16 is when the physical advantages that US players have early on start to dissipate. European players are playing at a faster speed from the beginning of their youth careers and are fundamentally more sound at those faster speeds. They only get better with time. US players slow down with time because they have been using size and speed primarily to get by in the youth system that prioritizes money and winning above all else. They are tapped out at about 17 and then go to college. College is not the goal in Europe. IT is pro football. The problem in the US is that we don't have enough coaches that understand the game at higher levels in our youth system. Very few Americans have even played the game in Europe or educated themselves on football in Europe. So our kids are learning from teachers that don't have the knowledge or experience. Just experience with the US which is one of the worst systems in the world and if they are older, it was even worse (when they learned), they are using outdated ideas and basic understanding of the game. And this is why we get basic players that run fast and/or play good defense. Or play goalie. CAMs, CDMs, CMs much less common because you actually have to process the game and make decisions at a much higher standard. US needs an entire system overhaul focused on player development, coach development and instilling a national identity in the players we produce. Until.then we will always be mediocre. And DCU is one of the worst culprits of having no knowledge or expertise at their disposal for the youth. Why the kids learn so little there. There is a big difference between having played football and teaching the game to teenagers. Two different skill sets. |

I'm kind of a newbie and no expert How is the development of the individual academy kids for both skills and IQ measured objectively and displayed where that we the public can know the levels of development growth? |
