Dog $hit rant

Anonymous
DD stepped in some today, smearing it not only on her shoe but also on the back seat floor mat.

When this happened a few months ago-- on my birthday, incidentally-- I tried cleaning the crap, then gave up and purchased new floor mats for $130.

Wasn't going to do this again so soon, so I had to clean it this morning.

Dogs are so not high on my list right now. Filthy, nasty creatures. They make really bad neighbors. The owners who don't mitigate their animals' inherent bad neighborness are even worse neighbors.

Most floor mats can go in the washing machine.

Those are bad neighbhors. Dog shit is the worst.

Go to a full service car wash and have them put your mats through the machine.

OP here. I do appreciate the tip, but I can't imagine a large, semi-rigid carpet full of juicy crap could get completely clean in a standard washing machine. And then, of course, I'd feel like the washing machine was contaminated.

First i think paying $130 for car mats is insane. Second, if you knew she'd stepped in it, why didnt you take her shoes OFF and place them in a plastic bag prior to getting her in the car? And finally, why blame the dog? not its' fault. it is the owners responsibility to clean after the dog.

Didn't know until after the smearing, thank you very much. I have an older child who gets herself into the car. What she doesn't do, apparently, is avoid dog crap.

I also though the floor mat cost was insane, but I wasn't about to clean someone else's (not even human) crap. It was the deal I was offered, so I took it.

It isn't that I blame the dogs, really, but I deeply resent having their disgustingness imposed on me so often. I don't own one, I shouldn't have to touch one, and I sure as hell shouldn't have to clean up after one. Ultimately, I resent the owners rather than the poor dumb creatures. Of course it's not the dog's fault.

Are you the only one in town? Adam Morgan is virtually covered in dog shit. I'm so sick of it.

I agree, OP. I have to teach my 5 year old son to watch where he walks in our neighborhood. I never would have thought that was a life skill I'd need to teach.

You can get the floor mats washed at a car wash for much less than $130. Just for future reference.

I'm sorry, OP, that sucks.

A couple years ago, my son stepped in some while we were out shopping. Luckily, the shoes he was wearing were relatively cheap (Crocs) so I just through them out and we went straight home. Ticks me off that more dog owners are not more responsible!

I have a neighbor whose dog is always loose and crapping on my lawn. Worst part is when I actually saw the neighbor and mentioned it, he wasn't apologetic at all and I ended up wondering if I was being a jerk for bringing it up.

Each week, you could round it all up and put it in a pile in 'his' yard.

How do you know it was not human crap? Did you see the dog poop? How do you know it was a dog? Wouldn't human poop be worse on the ick scale if it were not your or your childs poop?

Follow-up survey:
How frequently do you clean dog crap from the front of your house?

We live in AU Park and at least once a week there is dog crap on the grass between the sidewalk and street.

So frustrating!

We have neighbors like this. Proud to be raised in a barn. We pay for the DNA samples and photograph them in the act. Suffice it to say we have endless fun with the evidence. Be creative, willful and vengeful. They won't do it again, I promise!
