Oh and his great uncle too - the SDNY wants to talk to Andrew.

I definitely agree with you about Andrew.
I wouldn’t wish Exeter on George — unless, of course, he has some special interest in attending. If he doesn’t do Eton or another British school, at least choose a US school that’s some place warm.

Kate brought some brain power into the family, particularly with math. George would do better at Tonbridge.

She has a masters in art history—information easily and readily available if you weren't so busy shamelessly fan 'girl-ing' . Not sure what brain power in.math she brought to the family.

DP. She was a top student in high school, had 7 A levels which is the equivalent of AP courses here, including math. Other fun fact, Prince Charles went to Cambridge and was a very good student.

They clearly are going to try and prop her up and keep her working until they can get the platinum jubilee. It’s practically criminal that Will and Kate would even consider jetting off to America for an award show when the 94 y/o granny is still doing 300+ events a year.

The futures need to focus on their own country. Global work when you're doing the bare minimum at home is not a good look.

After Brexit, relations with the US are even more vital to the UK.

And they clearly are leveraging their biggest asset, the star power couple. Time Joe hosted a state dinner, bring some glamour to the WH.

Joe honestly doesn’t seem that interested in them. Trump seemed very starstruck by the royals (perhaps because his mother was Scottish?) and they didn’t want to touch him with a ten foot pole.

Does not matter what Joe’s personal feelings are on the matter, as they say this is business.

Yep. Business. And a connection with UK royals, and indeed a trade deal with the island because of them, is low low low on the totem pole.

Yep, which is why our President made his first presidential foreign trip to the UK, and will have visited the island twice in less than five months. Also why a top diplomat like John Kerry is announcing US proud to host Earthshot.

Surely it will be a fantastic collaboration with global reach.

Correction: the calendar had the UK hosting the g7 summit . Biden didn't choose the UK as his first foreign trip because of any strategic importance. And even it were the case, royals have nothing to do with it —they have no political power .

Neither the American left nor thd right is eager to strike a trade deal with Britain, especially as there are unresolved issues with the good Friday agreement ( doubt you instantly know what it is) in Ireland. What's next ? Crediting the cambridges with helping strike the AUKUS deal ? Delusional much ?

First meeting with a foreign leader, B. Johnson, to sign a renewed version of the “Atlantic Charter”. I guess some of y’all can’t take hints. The Royals are state reps/diplomats of the UK, personal feelings are irrelevant.

The royals are only diplomats to someone who doesn't know that diplomacy is political too. And after the end of absolute monarchy , royals are forbidden from venturing into the political field , hence , the reason why you seldom hear them give public opinions on domestic matters , much less international ones.

It’s called soft power and the UK uses them to the greatest advantage. They do not need to take political stances to advocate on behalf of their country, plenty of common ground to be found.

While I agree that the royals do use soft power I can’t think of any instance where anyone besides Queen Elizabeth has effectively done so.

Diana? I can think of a few possible issues, starting with changing the way AIDS patients were treated.

Wasn’t that after her divorce?

No, she became a patron of AIDs charities in 1987. She was an icon and I firmly believe the monarchy made a critical mistake by forcing her out. https://www.bbc.com/news/av/magazine-39490507

In April 1987, Princess Diana opened the UK's first purpose built HIV/Aids unit that exclusively cared for patients infected with the virus, at London Middlesex Hospital.

In front of the world's media, Princess Diana shook the hand of a man suffering with the illness.

She did so without gloves, publicly challenging the notion that HIV/Aids was passed from person to person by touch.

A in math A-levels and having what it takes to make it in a math major at the university level, are two different things . Good lord!

I still think there's something up with the Cambridges and the press. First there was that picture of them eating lunch together that got pulled overnight. Now there's pictures of them leaving on vacation...I mean yeah it could be a FlyBe stunt or it could be something else.

Aww ! Throwing insults certainly makes your argument more incisive and convincing , doesn't it? Having an A in math is NOT the number one *criterion*

Criteria = plural
Criterion= singular

As such, your sentence should've read: 'it's the number one admission *criterion* in the UK. Awkward!!!!!!!!!

I think the press is yanking their chain for something. This is clearly trying to make them look bad showing them going on vacation (and an informal picture too) right after everyone hears about Elizabeth being hospitalized. I feel like whenever the rota is feeling pissy they release these pap shots of the kids. And if does feel like there have been more of these recently.

Yet Charles’s family made him marry a secondary school drop out who could not get through a finishing school. In addition to the age gap Diana was dim as a doorknob.

They locked the vacation story, deleted the comments, and nuked it from the Daily Mail page. Interesting times.
