Official Brett Kavanaugh Thread, Part 5

I am thinking that if you were up for a big job promotion, and you had been accused of something potentially disqualifying (let’s say it’s an EEO complaint), I am betting that you would hope your employers would start with a presumptions of innocence before they write you off. Or, would you prefer that they automatically disqualify you based on a complaint with no evidence?

I called him an attempted rapist. However, it is highly that he continued attempting to rape and rv
Eventually succeeded and probably more than once.

Sure. Because there is SOOOO much evidence that your ridiculous statement is true.

I understand that ....... but the way to change that is for Democrats to win the presidency. You can't lose a presidential election and then whine when the Republican president names the nominee.

Elections have consequences as none other than Obama said when he won the presidency.

If Trump had nominated Merrick Garland there would have been absolutely no outcry from Democrats. Or nominated Obama. Wouldn't either of those have been a nice, healing gesture for the nation?

That would have been a lovely healing gesture. But the GOP doesn’t want that; they want anarchy.

That would be Trump thumbing his nose at the people who elected him. A number of people voted for him because they vote based on SCOTUS picks.

It would be a "healing gesture" for the Democratic party to agree that 3rd trimester abortions should be rare and should only happen in truly challenging circumstances. (And, since 3rd trimester abortions are rare, and almost always happen in truly challenging circumstances, it wouldn't be much of a reach.) But you'd never see the Dems push that, because a number of people who vote Dem do so because they believe there should be absolutely no restrictions on abortion.

What anti choice nonsense are you mumbling here? Do you legitimately think women are aborting eight and nine month fetuses?

Read it again, slower this time. Perhaps without your knee hitting you in the head and obstructing your vision. Here's a tip: pay particular attention to the parenthetical phrase.

DP. Why do you think it's necessary to legislate that? What is happening today that needs to change?

It would be a "healing gesture." Apparently PP's think a "healing gesture" is needed, and I was pointing out that their "healing gesture" suggestion was ludicrous.

I doubt a "healing gesture" of any sort would be accepted by anyone.

So you think he's just amazing and brilliant and been able to escape all consequences, even while surrounding himself with women and working to provide paths for women in law?

He's an arrogant asshole drunken rapist, who thinks he can do no wrong - in which case he'd have tons of (verifiable) charges against him by now, especially after his confirmation hearing. Since he doesn't, what? Women involved in the legal profession, are just tiny mice afraid to speak out even when it's clear the country supports anyone who hints Kavanaugh is even remotely in the wrong?

President Trump at Kavanaugh swearing-in: "On behalf of our nation, I want to apologize to Brett and the entire Kavanaugh family for the terrible pain and suffering you have been forced to endure."

Such a horrid excuse for a human.

For arguments sake let's say that in your youth you drank too much, even felt up a woman over her clothes against her wishes, maybe even pinned her down during the attempt, you didn't rape her but sure as hell did something you shouldn't have. During that time you said things and behaved in ways that surely didn't bode well for your future actions. BUT, you 'cleaned' up and for 30 years lived a clean life and you interviewed for a job but before you were hired the aforementioned woman brought that offense up. Would you feel it justified your future employer to deny you a job?

Sure, we are talking about an appointment to the highest court in the land and frankly I wish he hadn't been affirmed as I would have preferred someone less political. A learned, experienced jurist who is an a-political moderate that loves the constitution would be my choice. But the fact is that we don't get that in this day and time. So given the Senate's constitutional right to pass judgement on a president's nominee for the SCOTUS what should they consider? An uncorroborated claim that is over 30 years old or a life lived as an adult? It's a slippery slope to try and traverse if you entertain every claim without regard to the facts.

Consider Bill Cosby...did you miss the avalanche that occurred leading to his conviction? What about Harvey Weinstein?

You can keep typing that over and over, and you have quite a few times, and it will make no more sense the 100th time given the world we live in today.

Hand over mouth is really messed up and disqualifing as is all the un truths and evasive non answers given to the committee. The gleeful joy about the attack is really gross.

Absolutely but aside from the allegations he lied under oath. There are texts to prove as much that the fbi did not investigate. I think he will be impeached.

I have a friend whose mother was a sorry excuse for a mother and person. He turned out great in spite of it. As someone who loves our nation I hope Kavanaugh goes on to be a good SCJ and isn't as political as I believe he is.

I also hope that Trump decides that he is at his own imagined pinnacle as a president and doesn't run in 2020 so he can spend his few remaining years bragging about it.
