Not surprised. Her inattention to detail has been apparent throughout this entire, flawed boundary process. You can't really pull off a county-wide boundary review without an excruciating attention to detail and understanding of existing feeder patterns and how various changes have ripple effects. That's consistently been lacking from this process. |
She sure did! And the parents are pissed they are taking students from an underpopulated school to one over capacity. This is a spicy meeting for sure! |
Edison/Lewis |
And the military BRAC rep was very poorly trying to defend the decision... |
I've heard this 95 argument before, but it doesn't make sense. I drive from the Sydenstricker/Gambrill area to the Key/Lewis area at least once a week. I never get on 95. I don't even know how that would work. There is no highway driving other than the Parkway. |
Good lord...Reid again just said that she did not realize they were moving Lewis students out. Who the heck is paying attention???? |
Looks like Sandy's pet project is getting squashed! |
So we have a Superintendent who hasn't been following the boundary change proposals and a School Board Chair who was the biggest advocate for a change that is now widely being called out as ludicrous. We're in great hands, people. |
Doesn’t matter if it doesn’t make sense to you. It’s true. |
Seriously, this is horrifying. These are HUGE changes for many families and has been handled so poorly from the start. |
But, she has so many pictures on the website! |
| I'm really feeling for these Lewis parents tonight. Great parents, great comments at the meeting tonight. I know know one from FCPS looks at these boards...but if they do...support freaking Lewis |
They monitor this forum. They just try not to admit it. |
My high school in the 1990s had a preschool. It was essentially an early childhood education academy-style program. I think that would be a great program to have. There is a huge need for early childhood education providers in this area and this would be an excellent training ground for them. There are also a lot of low income families in the area that could use a head start program. |
What did they say? I totally missed that there was a meeting tonight. |
