Defense and Prosecutor entered several pieces of evidence. Including:
- A copy of the chats between CB and JR was entered under seal
- Multiple pictures of the scene were entered, many under seal.

Defense's Argument

- Prosecutor previously "misstated" that AP had bought plane tickets using her passport.
- She actually had used to apply for a work visa and student visa. AP was legally in the country at the time of her arrest with no intention of leaving.
- Prosecutor has not provided any actual evidence of a conspiracy. Just public statements.
- AP was actively dating multiple people, did not deny relationship with BB during police interview, but mentioned she was dating several people.
- Prosecutor overstated extent of JR's incapacitation from first shot. The Medical Examiner stated that there was possibility that JR could see and move.


Prosecutor's Argument

- Prosecutor surprised Defense with a document showing that ICE has asked to be notified if she is release from custody, and they have a warrant for her. He is afraid that if she is released and ends up in federal custody, they will deport her.
- Prosecutor stated that there is no extradition treaty with Brazil, and that the Feds do not have to acknowledge the case's priority. Feds could just deport AP and then the state of VA has no control.
- Prosecutor also argued that she is manipulative and can be manipulated, and therefore still a danger.
- Displayed a picture of JR's body. JR was clutching his stomach on his back
- Mainly re-iterated things said previously at preliminary hearing.
- Mentioned that BB took the 5th on every question during prelim.


Other facts that came out (from chat transcripts and other things referred to by both sides)

- CB and JR communicated using Fetlife and Telegram.
- JR brought up the idea of bringing a knife, CB asked about the details.
- They discussed blood play (cutting)
- CB asked JR, "Do you still want to tear off my clothes? I have a set of old pajamas you can tear"
- A set of ripped pajamas was recovered from the scene
- Pics of a knife, ropes, chains, rubber restraints were sent by JR to CB
- CB took selfie in a bathing suit and sent to husband. A few hours later sent the same selfie to JR with caption: "I sent this to my husband and he didn't even notice I lost 20 pounds"
- Judge questioned about the 45 min phone call over telegram that occurred between CB and JR
- After the phone call, JR texted: "It was great hearing your sexy voice"
- JR wrote that he had only done blood play once before, with razor blades
- CB had several superficial cuts that barely broke the skin
- JR was in the process of cutting CB with BB walked in
- CB wrote "trip to the zoo" on calendar
- CB had multiple lacerations to her neck and carotid artery. Three lacerations to the right side of her neck were the most likely the cause of death
- In the second 911 call, (mentioned but not played) BB is trying to save CB's life by applying pressure

Judge's Decision
Denied bond for two reasons.
- First, that FCPD could lose jurisdiction/control if the Feds take custody and/or deport
- Second, that AP could still pose a risk to community.

I'm curious why all of this "new" evidence about Juliana's defense would be discussed at a bond hearing (when not brought up at the previous bond hearing). What does any of these supposed texts and details about CB have to do with her ability to not flee the country? Also weird that the bond hearing was Tuesday morning but no one has reported on it- because some of these new details are a little shocking to say the least.

These are not “facts” in any way but just statements (much like our statements on this thread are not “facts”). The chat transcripts can be ascribed to a persona only. Anyone (and even more than one person) could be behind the chat ID. As the now decades old New Yorker cartoon stated, “No one on the internet knows your a dog.”

I don’t know them personally but I can tell you this…. The mother and sister of CB and the former au Pair who was very close with CB used to be on social media connected to BBs mother. Remember, the families are from the same area. Then, at one point they all “unfriended” BBs mother. Something happened.

BB and CB met as teens and their families had known one another for decades.

The CB text is poignant to me, BB seems very cold as a baseline and was having an affair in the marital home. She may have lost weight as part of this birthday gift scene and I bet she was lonely. BB's was off at the gym with chubby AP with the rack. The poor child was living in a crazy environment even before losing her mom and 1/2 her extended family. I hope karma comes for BB. None of this would have happened without his machinations. Not death, not Fe&life, none of it.

Given law enforcement statements early on that they believed someone else set up the account I’m hoping that the chats through the site clearly show that the person posing as CB was not a native English speaker

1. If BB was truly innocent I can understand not speaking with the cops and taking the 5th. If the most he was guilty of was sleeping with AP and trying to impress her by taking her to a gun range and buying her a gun (terrible coincidence of course), then he’d be well within good lawyerly advice to keep his mouth shut because the facts look bad for him. For similar reasons the fact that he isn’t convening press conferences to declare his innocence I find of no matter. Plenty of guilty husbands went over the top doing such things.

2. The version of events supplied thus far by the prosecution do enable a reading where BB was innocent. We can draw inferences both ways and don’t have enough facts.

3. The fact that the state is pursuing the case against the AP however continues to suggest to me they have additional evidence supporting theory this is some sort of plot/conspiracy orchestrated by BB. But on merely the facts we’ve seen (and without drawing inferences from such facts and/or what behavior we think a guilty person may engage in), it doesn’t surprise me if some people aren’t convinced.

For the record I think BB probably did it. But if I was on a jury right now with only the evidence discussed so far, I’m not sure I could vote to convict. (If I were on a grand jury however I think there is enough to indict.)

Just have to sit tight and wait for more info.

Msg could have been part of lure, to make sure JR was firmly on the hook. If he had backed out, would have blown up the scheme.

Not sure most women would talk about having lost 20 lbs to a stranger in this context, goes against the jdbf ethos of many men.

It will be a good day when BB is held accountable for his role in all this.

I thought it was last summer, around the time when people were posting her instagram (now private) posts here. Most of those have been deleted.
