This is a top ten post. |
I think the rest of the thread missed the biting satire. Which adds to it I think. |
| Such a bad era when schools/every thing felt compelled to write that woke word salad garbage. It should burn those that bent the knee to the phony virtue signaling |

Looking to the final weeks:
Question: Is DC area lacrosse down or is talent just more distrubuted? IAC: Landon's to lose. Landon a clear number one. Deepest with the best coaching and faceoff dominance. Bullis has top talent but lack of depth and me-ball hurting them. Prep is underachieving. Cue nonsense rumors about Urick's job security. EHS has some talent but falloff is steep and hasn't found rhythm. StA is good at band and chorus, not so much at lacrosse. SSSA seems to have largely abandoned boys sports. WCAC: Four teams can win. SJC may be a narrow favorite. Inconsistency, faceoff struggles, and penalties have been an issue. Verdict still out on new OC. Gonzaga isn't what they usually are but are a tough out and play hard. DeMatha thriving with no coaching. Best they've looked in a long time. GC continues to build under Dane. Looking for a championship run. Heights has some good top talent but way weaker down the roster. PVI is standard undisciplined PVI and frustrating to watch. The Bishops are fielding teams. Short Version: DMV runs through Wilson Lane right now. Possible, maybe even likely, that the WCAC is the stronger league in the next 2-3 years. |
| *DeMatha thriving with new coaching. |
| Me ball narrative is so played out. Do you need a pass rule moron? |
No you’re right. Dodging into two poles and shooting wide with no backup with 58 seconds on the shot clock isn’t just genius. It’s Georgetown Prep genius. |

Short Version: DMV runs through Wilson Lane right now. Possible, maybe even likely, that the WCAC is the stronger league in the next 2-3 years. Not sure how you come to that conclusion. WCAC SJC's best class is the 26's. The 27's have some players too but the 28's are down but Speaks will bring them in Paul VI might not have a program after the 26's leave. Well documented no jv last year and participation is down with the campus move GZ will continue to be strong due to the size of the school and DC location GC definitely gets very weak after the 26's graduate DM has nothing after this class The Heights truly has no hope of sustaining excellence IAC Landon has a program and a campus which allows clubs to practice and hold clinics GP has a pipeline from a proven sports-driven grade school along with the rest of the archdiocese. same as GZ Bullis has the best facilities and the school will be a magnet for the next coach STA's coach is finally being given some leeway to get a couple of lax guys every year SSSAS and EHS have tremendous upside but very real administration issues It will continue to be the same story. The IAC has a better academic reputation and better facilities. The WCAC has much lower tuition but much better all sports and a good academic reputation. It's sacrilege, but the MAC could really become more competitive if their admins wanted to dive into the sport just a little more. |
All good points about STA. Who is their football player that was the best player according to you ? Manny is clearly the best player in the league |

For the second year in a row, the Bears are the best team in the DMV this Spring (not many lax gurus had the Bears at the start of their season in the top four). Landon has a unique advantage due to the continuity of its coaching staff—it's the same staff since Coach Bordley retired (with the exception of GP alum Kubik). I've watched Landon play a few times this Spring. They are fast, athletic, and scrap hard. Individually, there aren't many superstars on its roster or the Tx Xanders "blue chip" type recruit, but they play extremely well together and play with a ton of discipline. All of this can be attributed to the coaching. McGettigan struggled in his first season as HC for the Bears, now in his 4th full season, the Bears are on top of the lacrosse pecking order in the DMV. Time will tell how much the Bears drop off in the Spring of 2026. I thought they'd drop off this Spring with the graduation of their 2024 class, but I was wrong. Over in the WCAC, the parity the parity between GZ, SJC, GC, Heights, DM, PVI and Ryken is exciting and great for the sport. Clearly, there are some good young coaches on the horizon, particularly at DM, Ryken, and GC. The WCAC for the past decade has been very boring to follow as it's been dominated by GZ and most recently SJC. Lastly, all this talk that the DMV is down is getting old. Down relative to whom? I don't think any of the IAC or WCAC should aim to operate the way Culver, Lawrenceville, Loomis, Western Reserve, Salisbury etc., etc. These schools recruit nationally, bring in several PG's a year and re-class kids on the regular. Still plenty of lax left to be played in these final 3 weeks. Anything can happen in the IAC and WCAC playoffs. Enjoy the ride, seniors! |

| Landon hasn’t really played anyone. Wins over some MIAA bottom dwellers, some teams from Florida, the GZ win doesn’t hold that much weight this year, no standout wins against top 25 opponents. |
Gonzaga and Bullis… |
