They clearly are going to try and prop her up and keep her working until they can get the platinum jubilee. It’s practically criminal that Will and Kate would even consider jetting off to America for an award show when the 94 y/o granny is still doing 300+ events a year.

The futures need to focus on their own country. Global work when you're doing the bare minimum at home is not a good look.

After Brexit, relations with the US are even more vital to the UK.

And they clearly are leveraging their biggest asset, the star power couple. Time Joe hosted a state dinner, bring some glamour to the WH.

Joe honestly doesn’t seem that interested in them. Trump seemed very starstruck by the royals (perhaps because his mother was Scottish?) and they didn’t want to touch him with a ten foot pole.

That's why this Earthshot prize is a good idea. It's bigger than just the president or a quick state trip. It will reach a wider audience. It will continue to connect the two countries.

Does not matter what Joe’s personal feelings are on the matter, as they say this is business.

Wow. The delusion. America has nothing to do with the Earthshot Prize.

If anything William should be focused on holding the awards ceremony in a Commonwealth country which will benefit from the publicity and the implementation of the ideas.

Yep. Business. And a connection with UK royals, and indeed a trade deal with the island because of them, is low low low on the totem pole.

Yep, which is why our President made his first presidential foreign trip to the UK, and will have visited the island twice in less than five months. Also why a top diplomat like John Kerry is announcing US proud to host Earthshot.

Surely it will be a fantastic collaboration with global reach.

LOL Biden has gone as an attendee of the G7 and COP26. Both international gatherings of foreign leaders which the UK happens to host this year. Same thing if he was attending a UN conference which happens in New York. Meanwhile the UK royals and their state-sanctioned pets thought they'd be exiting 2019 and entering Brexit with a big, THE BIGGEST, trade deal in 2020. Turns out - not so much.

Of course the future futures know this. At least William does. He may be stupid but he's not quite an imbecile.

Correction: the calendar had the UK hosting the g7 summit . Biden didn't choose the UK as his first foreign trip because of any strategic importance. And even it were the case, royals have nothing to do with it —they have no political power .

Neither the American left nor thd right is eager to strike a trade deal with Britain, especially as there are unresolved issues with the good Friday agreement ( doubt you instantly know what it is) in Ireland. What's next ? Crediting the cambridges with helping strike the AUKUS deal ? Delusional much ?

Sorry we've got better things to do. Just like the Aussies and Scottish who told them to stay their butts at home.

Oh my gosh, that's hilarious! Love his little smile after he said it. Good sense of humor.

First meeting with a foreign leader, B. Johnson, to sign a renewed version of the “Atlantic Charter”. I guess some of y’all can’t take hints. The Royals are state reps/diplomats of the UK, personal feelings are irrelevant.

The royals are only diplomats to someone who doesn't know that diplomacy is political too. And after the end of absolute monarchy , royals are forbidden from venturing into the political field , hence , the reason why you seldom hear them give public opinions on domestic matters , much less international ones.

They need an intervention, she is not capable of doing the job anymore.

That's been apparent for a minute. Although before this year she never tried to cut a cake with an upside-down saber in public.

They caught her on a hot mic ffs, she is a ticking time bomb. The palace machinery must be working overtime to diffuse her gaffes.

Apparently she refused an Oldies award they have in the UK. Holding on to that crown for dear life, they have to pry it off her head.

It’s called soft power and the UK uses them to the greatest advantage. They do not need to take political stances to advocate on behalf of their country, plenty of common ground to be found.

That's why this Earthshot prize is a good idea. It's bigger than just the president or a quick state trip. It will reach a wider audience. It will continue to connect the two countries.

Wow. The delusion. America has nothing to do with the Earthshot Prize.

If anything William should be focused on holding the awards ceremony in a Commonwealth country which will benefit from the publicity and the implementation of the ideas.

Maybe you should tell William? Or tell whoever decided that the second set of awards should be in the US instead of in a Commonwealth country. If William wanted to make a splashy impact in North America, why not Canada?

William's issue is that - Harry did it first so of course he has to do it too. The second Invictus Games was held in the United States. Now William needs to have his showy launch in the United States as well - Covid, politics, and Brexit be damned. At least Invictus had a reason - the U.S. was a partner in the games and U.S. competitors won.

The Earthshot is targeted towards developing countries which need better environmental projects to meet their challenges. Why not have it in Jordan and co-hosted by the Queen who graciously took the time to help judge the first competition?

No foresight or thought other than trying to bully his way into the U.S.
