We’re only doomed if we don’t get maga violence in check and stopped. These people are willing to kill and are armed to the teeth. We MUST get them under control. If we don’t not, then yes, we are doomed.

You have no idea if this was a crazy democrat but you're very quick to blame trump supporters. I don't think your comments going to age well.

Trump supporters, including those who are elected officials, are the ones calling for war following this terrible shooting.

Lol what????!

Right wing lunatics like Jesse Watters calling for more political violence? Now THAT is something that we should all be universally condemning.

Utter insanity. They need to shut down the internet -- it's worse than a brain worm.

A lot more people agree with you than not. Look this 24-hour news coverage is ridiculous. Not one mention today of the murders in Colorado. Half of America are saying Charlie who, or that guy who was killed that’s all in the news. What did he do?

Yeah I had never heard his name before the shooting. Even after the shooting I had no idea it would blow up like this.

Is he walking that way because he has a gun down on leg of his pants?

Might be trying to throw off A.I. gait recognition software.

Is this a thing?

How on Earth could anyone not know it's a thing?

Your gait, habits, ticks, voice recognition, even your cough is analysed and data based around electronics that are data mining now.

Why would I need to know this?

For it to end now, the extremist rhetoric needs to end. Otherwise it's not gonna end.

This is the first I had ever heard of Charlie Kirk. Absolutely no clue who this person was.

I don't see a rifle on him, where's he hiding it? If this photo is from before the incident, does that mean he stashed the weapon in advance?
If this photo is from after the shooting, where is it. The claim is that it was in the woods, this appears to be a stairwell
Why jump from a roof with a gun, only to leave it in the woods? Why not just leave it on the roof?
Who jumps off a 3rd floor roof and can then run into the woods unimpaired?

I had the same exact thoughts. Where’s the gun, is it collapsible or something?

He's right.

Federal law enforcement has designated right-wing violence as the most pressing domestic terror threat.

This is simply a fact. The assassination of Kirk doesn't change that.

Where is your fact coming from? Out of curiosity, I looked to see if the federal government has said this. I didn't find anything supporting your fact. Rather, this Homeland Security report from 2025 identifies Domestic Violent Extremists as the primary threat, and defines them to be individuals motivated by various ideologies (emphasis added):

A Domestic Violent Extremist (DVE) is an individual based and operating primarily within the United States or its territories without direction or inspiration from a foreign terrorist group or other foreign power who seeks to further political or social goals wholly or in part through unlawful acts of force or violence. The mere advocacy of political or social positions, political activism, use of strong rhetoric, or generalized philosophic embrace of violent tactics alone does not constitute violent extremism and may be constitutionally protected. DVEs can fit within one or multiple categories of ideological motivation and can span a broad range of groups or movements. I&A utilizes this term synonymously with “domestic terrorist.”

The extremism needs to be dialed down and we need better gun control. Anyone disagreeing with this is just plain wrong.

He is MAGA famous. If you aren’t into online political content on twitter and tik tok, odds are you won’t know him.

FINALLY.

+1 you have to remember we are talking about people and we have stop the dehumanization. NC is a purple state with a lot of mixed political communities. When we are talking about “war” in these places, that means co workers, neighbors, and people you go to church and school with. People don’t know what they are really asking for and haven’t lived through actual armed conflict. Everyone is going to be miserable.

This is what needs to happen. We need to dial back the toxic rhetoric, we need to stop the intentional misleading of young men, i.e. Andrew Tate style redpilling, we need to stop "owning" people just out of pure spite, we need to stop demonizing vast swaths of America.

That kind of rhetoric gets people shot. That kind of rhetoric foments revolutions. It's horrible that Charlie Kirk got shot, but it's also not a surprise. I do not condone political violence. But I absolutely will state as a fact that if nothing changes in our tone, the political violence not only won't stop, it will escalate. The political firebrands on both sides would be wise to heed this.

This afternoon people were posting the alleged name of the shooter. Has that been confirmed or refuted?

+1 This is embarrassing. From the same administration who thought stars and crowns were gang tattoos.

I don’t think the name came from an official source. I haven’t seen any more about it so I assume it’s fake.

Untrue. He was constant presence on college campuses. Started Turning Point USA when he was only 18 years old. There’s a reason why his political assassination is huge news.
