So much competence. It's been an issue for years and completely ignored until someone died. Just like the USDA. |
That's how most places operate. No need for changes if there aren't MAJOR accidents and deaths. It's how the world works. |
They are going to fly over your neighborhoods. |
That's not how you manage risk. It's complacency. Their lives or jobs aren't on the line. |
But PP is an armchair know-it-all, a professional in any area they desire. No actual experience required. |
Thank you. The security lines were getting a little too long. |
you do realize, right, that "training" flight does not mean this was like frekin' drivers ed? One pilot had 1000 hrs of flight time and the other had 500 hrs which is apparently a lot because each flight is relatively short and it's not like you are flying for days straight. |
IT'S A HUGE CONSPIRACY!!! ARMCHAIR DETECTIVES TO THE RESCUE!! |
After this sh** show they need to resign! |
But then how else will the PP solve this mystery? It's CRITICAL that they figure this out. We are all waiting on their analysis. Even if it's based on a scattering of details, lots of rumors, and zero relevant experience. |
Regulations are written in blood. The same type of regulations the current administration wants to roll back. Buckle up. |

Even if they were looking at JAZZ 789, that plane was not close to the wilson bridge and if these pilots had thousands of hours and have been flying that path wouldn't they know that? 00:48 - ATC tells CRJ 5407 to keep rolling out to N, ground .7 and says good day 1:01 - ATC tells American 1630 cleared for take off runway 1 1:09 conflict alert 1:12 - ATC asks PAT 25 if they have the CRJ in sight and ask them to pass behind the CRJ 1:16 - PAT25 responds they have the aircraft in sight and have visual separation and then the crash. |
But the answer is yes, there are redundant controls for safety purposes. |
