Nice write up in IL on Prep’s big OT win against an over rated Loyola team but I didn’t see anything after their embarrassment against a true top 10 team like MP…hmmm

Bullis was much better last year and GC was much worse than this year. The final was 10-6. I give GC a good chance to upset Bullis.

STA 10-5 and it should have been 15 or 20 to 5. STA missed a lot of decent chances.

Blakefield would beat anyone in the dmv outside of their loss to Prep. They play Malvern tomorrow and then Bullis on the 22nd. I bet they lose to Malvern but handle Bullis cleanly. On the other hand, Malvern should certainly finish top 3 once nationally once it’s all said and done.

10. Riverside (1-): The Leesburg public school power had a great win over 2X defending VA Class 6 State Champion Madison in Overtime last week. Riverside plays St. Albans today which will be an interesting game to follow.

STA was much better in every facet of the game today.

What makes you think Blakefield would beat anyone in the DMV outside of GP?

From watching the GP - LB livestream, it was clear the Lil Hoyas were the better team.

Agree with you about Malvern Prep. The Friars are loaded this year and likely will be a top 10 team nationally.

The STA vs Riverside 10-5 game today was painfully sloppy and chaotic. Definitely not top shelf lacrosse. Clears, on both sides, were a travesty. It was a 2 to 3 point game until the very end of the third quarter. We learned three things with this game.

1. Neither team is very good.
2. STA is at or near the bottom of the IAC again.
3. You can’t really compare public school lacrosse to private, they’re just on different levels.

STA has a good 10. They don't have enough players to play a full game against a deeper team. It showed against GC too when they ran out of gas in the 4th.

If by private you mean the top 10 teams or so then yes. But after that there are plenty of publics that can beat the rest of the privates. There are plenty of mediocre to terrible privates.

Obviously, when discussing private vs public we are talking about the top 10ish privates. These are the privates discussed seriously on this forum. No one, for example, discusses Sidwell Friends' lacrosse team and they're a private. 🙄

What kind of stupid reasoning is this? One of the very best publics just got smoked by the worst team in the IAC. If you are sliding down the scale, how bad would STA have beaten a .500 team in publics? If Riverside and other publics want a win, they should be scheduling middle to bottom of the ladder MAC teams.
Go ahead and bring up that one win Riverside has over GZ 2 years ago. It's like when people pick 16 seeds in the NCAA when it's happened once in history. Stop please.

It was 6-2 at half, briefly 6-4 and then quickly 9-4. It should have been much worse.

Try to keep up.

Of course the STA kids are not top notch lacrosse players but you were watching kids who pull 1600 and 36s and are going to Duke, Princeton and Yale.
