Arlington ECNL, FCV not ECNL

Do folks believe MLS Next will last more than a year or so? Isn't it funded by MLS? Aren't they in a terrible financial situation? Honest question so please don't attack me. I just don't understand if US Soccer didn't want to deal with managing and funding a youth soccer league, how can MLS afford it?

I don't know why MLS would bother either. Most of their better players aren't even American.

If Arlington is getting girls ECNL, why would ECNL be waiting so long to announce it officially?

MLS is doing quite well as a pro league relative to its own metrics.

They are not getting it... until they get it.

Arlington may or may not be getting ECNL. But what will keep this thread alive for months is that ECNL will not be making announcements like this until the season is over. Indeed, Arlington still has to finish out the GA season in the spring. So either there is nothing here and it will keep generating new posts in this thread or Arlington is going to ECNL and it is a private deal until announced in May (and new posts will be on the thread until then).

Is it too late for DD to tryout for Arlington? I don't know if they're going to be ECNL or GAL and it doesn't really matter to me. Coming from Springfield area.

Yes DD can still try out. Figure out who the age-group coach is (look on ASA website) and contact them to see if DD can join a practice session. Also my guess is that there will be more ID sessions even if Arlington sticks with GA instead of ECNL. If Arlington gets ECNL there will definitely be more ID sessions.

What age group is your DD?

FCV are ranked so highly because they are playing against low level competition? Richmond deserve credit

What is the average placement for FCV in the ECNL tables?

But this is topdrawer soccer. It doesn't mean anything at all. No one cares about TDS.

They've already had one ID session and called back a few girls to join a practice. 2005 has a small roster (14 + 2 goalies), so you should definitely reach out.
