McLean, BRYC, VDA, FCV, Metro United, Alexandria, SYC, DC Stoddert. Everybody is freaking out right now. MLS Next, GAL, EDP won’t make your name better than: Arlington ECNL.

Why is DC Stoddert freking? Are they worried the former ODSL teams will take their spot in NCSL and push them out?

This is the usual arrogance manifested by the average Arlington parent. Rumor is probably true and was a done deal when the boys got ECNL last year. No way the girls (and esp their parents) would have hung out a year in GAL without the promise of ECNL on the horizon. FCV doesn’t have boys teams which works to their disadvantage to a league that wants teams all in.

McLean stands to lose the most on this one..

Heh, "No way the girls would have hung out a year in GAL" ... like they would have had any other choice. Could you be any more arrogant?

Thus far, if there is any one characteristic of ECNL, it is that they protect their members, regardless of the level of play. Why would they let ARL in, when they are in such close proximity to McLean and BRYC? Clyde might as well retire if that happens. Maybe it's time for that anyway.
