It's true that now would be a good time to shift to the kind of complete streets DC should have after the pandemic is over - the kind of streets that everyone feels safe and comfortable using - but unfortunately the DC leadership does not seem to have any interest in that.

I don't think that anybody has banned delivery vehicles from the streets.

Do you drive a delivery vehicle? Are you concerned about your ability to make your deliveries?

It's a public street, built for cars, residents do not own it. Yes, entitlement. As a drive, I had a legal right to be driving on that street (and by the way, I was driving in the neighborhood because I live there dummy--just hate some of my neighbors).


And the kids also have a right to ride their bikes there safely, no? I hope that you are an essential employee or we’re going out to get food or medicine and not ones of those jerks just driving around now out of boredom.


I guarantee that PP is a huge jerk who was probably driving to Rodman’s to restock on booze. And she’s apoplectic with rage that she had to take a 10 second detour around some playing children because in her mind, everyone else should just get the h*ll out of her way wherever she wants to drive her Escalade. That's silly, PP. You can't completely block off a whole block with a few traffic cones. Plus traffic cones are easy to move when a delivery vehicle comes.

See? Bicyclists are willfully blind to the risks they are running. I find it amazing people put their children on bikes and ride through the city. So incredibly dangerous.

If you think it's so dangerous, then you must be extra supportive of designing transportation infrastructure that is safe not just for adults on bicycles, but also for children on bicycles. I couldn't agree with you more.
