Barcelona does not play tiki-taka under Valverde. They rely on Messi's brilliance, but they do not play the way Barca used to play. Ajax and ManCity were the closest to tiki-taka style last year. |
Man City is having some serious issues this year.... |
This line of thought is silly. There’s no reason to believe that the women’s side will be any different than the men’s side in figuring out how to neutralize and exploit Barcelona’s tactics. PDA wasn’t prepared and was caught with their pants down. This only can happen so many times before managers just go to the video and apply lessons learned elsewhere, Mr 2011. |
Their issues are mostly related to injuries (Sane, Silva, Laporte, Stones, Aguero, Mendy, Zinchenko, etc), some bad luck and lack of depth at CB. It is not their style of play. They looked good against Leicester City. |
PDA was prepared. They played the way they have been trained to play against American teams. They know of no other way to play and they are incapable of playing any other way because they were not selected for their IQ, versatility or skill. |
That’s definitely your narrative but isn’t true. They weren’t prepared to play this tiki taka team. I’m sure if they played them 10 times in succession, they would adjust. |
They could play them 10 times and they would lose 9 of them. |
| Bah humbug. Merry Christmas. Hope your day turns out more positive than your posts. |
Sorry PDA lost. |
And yet they are in third in the Premier League. What really qualifies as serious issues? They will qualify for the UEFA. |
Please point out the successful Pro Club or National team that draws its influence from American soccer. I’ll wait. |
Maybe if you spent some time looking up from licking Pep's boot bottoms, you'd know. Some really embarrassing games this season and can't really compete with Liverpool. Happy Christmas, my boy, don't you have some 2010 WC re-runs to watch? |
| Still waiting on that National Team that emulates American soccer. |
4x world champion US Women’s national team, since we are talking about a u15 girls game. I think that would qualify as “American” soccer, whatever that means to you. Any more ignorant, goalpost moving questions for $2000, Alec? Just admit that you’ve lost the argument and let the thread die already. This discussion is getting boring. |
And what pro club in Europe is emulating our women’s national team? |
