Just 3 baths a week? Oh my!

DP - that's basically every other day. Not at all worthy of an "oh my!" The only thing odd is the order in which pp listed the days.

And actually if one bath is Friday and the next isn’t until Wednesday? That is 5 days -literally almost a week! And then from Wednesday to Sunday is 4 days! And then from Sunday to Friday is another 5 days! This is most definitely not every other day. This is neglect!

Reading. It’s fundamental. It’s fundamental.

I’m sorry, but the order the poster used was Friday, Wednesday, Sunday. You do the math. If you go in that particular order, I am correct.

No you aren’t. Who said they wanted you to go in order? The sentence immediately before that clearly states 3 baths a week. There are only 7 days in a week pp. Please stop trying to shame this mom.

Why don’t you go have some carbs and calm down?

I’m completely calm. You are trying to justify your slam to this mom and you are failing miserably.

So maybe she should have written, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday then. It was an odd sequence and didn’t make sense to me.

Looks like someone else found the order odd too.

I guess reading isn’t their strong suit either. (Shrugs)

I guess bathing your kids to stay clean isn’t your strong suit, either.

Yes every day. Every so often we will skip.
IF we skip: That means we:
Potty, wash hands, wash face, brush teeth and hair.
But during the summer, stinky dirty feet mean baths are every day.
My kid has had a UTI, so I’m very concerned that things are clean.

I never said I didn’t bathe my kids everyday. I’m simply pointing out that you werecwrong and totally misinterpreted what this mom was saying. It’s funny though, as it was pointed out to you respectfully and yet you still refuse to let it go.

Pointed out respectfully? No, it certainly wasn’t respectful. “Reading. It’s fundamental. It’s fundamental.” Yeah. I did read the order which she wrote which is why it didn’t make sense to me, especially after she said she bathes her kids every other day. That’s why I asked.

Do the parents of these rare bathers not bathe too?
Anonymous
No. Every other day. Dh travels Monday- Thursday and its hard as hell to bathe them at the same time. Ds (12 months) wants to get out and the 3 year old needs help getting out too. One is basically crying while the other gets attended too. It's a rough time of the night. Bathing both at the same time is rough.

Anonymous wrote:Yes we bathe our kids nightly, they are 2 and 5. I'd say about 1/2 the baths are just with water. We do more soap/shampoo in the summer and less in the winter. Lotion always.

But my sister only bathes her kids a few times a week. It works for them. The downside is that yes, she has to fight about it with them since it's not part of their routine. But they certainly don't smell and it works for them.

Also I am lazy and like re-using pjs over 2 nights, which is much easier to do if they are clean when they put them on....

Is this normal? Changing pajamas every one or two days? I bathe (almost 2-yr old) DD, but I only change her pajamas twice a week. Unless there is diaper leakage or something, obviously.

I'm the quoted PP, I think that's fine! I found one of my kids was really clean as an infant/young toddler and she could re-use them quite a bit. My 2nd kid seems to get everything dirty. Some kids wear the pjs through breakfast and I think that can cause them to get dirty too. But if they never really leave the bedroom, I definitely reuse. But I've noticed there's a wide variety of how kids wear pjs....

My kids get new PJs when they take a bath with is every other day-ish.

Interesting. My kid bathes every day but only changes PJs once per week, and never wears them outside of bed.
Anonymous
My 3 yo takes a bath every other day but only washes his hair every other bath. We change PJs on bath night. On the days the doesn't take a bath i still wipe down his face, arms and feet. He wears his PJs around the house but not outside.

In the summer, yes. In the winter, no, because eczema flares a lot in the winter and I try not to dry her out. She gets sink baths.

The only one who’s not letting it go is you. I commented that the order she posted was odd and didn’t make sense to me, given the fact she stated she bathes every other day. Another poster also thought the order was odd. I wouldn’t have gotten it wrong had the order been correct. I understand now what she meant. Bathing every other days is still better than every 4-5 days.
