They have both. They have one set of floor plans that's the traditional SFH - yard, basement, etc. They offer another set of floorplans that's more TH style that does not have a basement, but instead, has a rooftop terrace.

They're too close to other people. You don't have a yard big enough to say smoke a 15 lbs brisket for 14 hours without pissing off your neighbor. You can't plant a decent size garden. What if I want to blast heavy metal and play drums, or smoke? No one wants to pay $1.5 mil to have to have someone live that close next to you with a common wall. The only time you pay that much is if you live in an actual city in a row home or swanky condo. TH are notorious for being difficult to re-sell and do not appreciate as much in value. Are there fees too? HOAs suck.

I guess the builders can cross you off the list of potential buyers.

Lol in my 20 years of living in the burbs, I’ve never come across anyone doing any of those things outside of an occasional cigar. Cmon.

I am sure there are some HOA fees - there is a pool and some other things. I’ve lived in hoods with HOAs and I’ve never had an issue. Stop with the hysterics.

bumping this monster thread. We've been in the market and have upped our budget to the $1.2m-1.4m range and are now considering Crown (along with Mt Prospect). Anyone have thoughts on crown these days? Looks like they're selling.

Not sure exactly which house was discussed here.

Well there's our answer! It's a covid house! Under covid, people want lots of space for work, school, exercise. Don't need to go anywhere. Might as well be in Gaithersburg because nothing is open.

What am I looking at. A 1.7M townhouse in Gaithersburg. .?.....?if yes wow

I mean, I get where this would be something people might want. Elsewhere in the area, 1.7 million doesn't get you much.
