I feel that way about Kentlands, actually. (No, I don't live in Bethesda.)

Have you been to Kentlands lately? And I don't mean the side with the Giant; I mean main street and market square.

i live nearby and I am a huge fan of Rio and Kentlands. I am also a person that loves to go down to DC and bethesda with the kids and for nights out with my wife. That said, the new places they opened in the Kentlands have been HUGE disappointments minus the refurbished movie theater. They had a chance to put in some neat places but instead added chains that are so meh. Dog Haus is brutal. MOD pizza is meh. Haven't tried the mexican place yet. Berries and Bowls? Overpriced acai bowls. I thought they laid a giant egg with these new additions when it could have been great. I'm sure it will be nice and walkable in that area in the summer but color me unimpressed.

I totally disagree. Dog Haus is delicious. I also love Berries and Bowls; we go all the time. I agree MOD Pizza is meh, but it's very popular, so whatever -- I'm happy the neighborhood has something people like.

We love Vasili's (especially the new-ish version they made after they moved from Main Street). I'm excited for the pulled noodle house that's coming. The Mexican place hasn't opened yet. I haven't tried Barrels and Brews, but it seems to be getting good reviews.

You should also head over to main street and try Sin and Grin. Their tacos are awesome. We also got a new meadery that I haven't tried yet.

This quarantine is truly showing how pointless it is to pay loads of money to live by tons of shops and restaurants.

They're closed.

PP here...I keep telling people that Vasilis is one of the top restaurants in all of moco. That place is great - we go all the time. My only quip with Vasilis is that they don't change the menu enough. We had an awful experience at DH - granted, we went very early on but the service and food (we had regular burgers and plant based burgers) was very mediocre. Not a big fan of B&B - but I acknowledge is catered to teens/early 20s. Am curious about the former potomac pizza place - the meade place. I tried the S&G place (that used to be the old vasilis place and I think the owner is the same as Vasilis?) and it was pretty good.

Back to the whole point of this thread...I am curious how these Wormald homes will sell. I don't foresee a price drop considering how steady they've remained with pricing.

Yes, I also make my decisions about where to live based on a two-month span of time during a once-in-a-century occurrence.

Also the restaurants are open for take-out.

Oh I didn't realize Vasili's and Sin and Grin were owned by the same person! Interesting.

I'm curious about the Crown houses too. The neighborhood isn't my cup of tea, not least because it's so close to the highway, but if it sells well, that's only good for the area!

Vasilli's newish place is not good. Service has been spotty at best, uncooked salmon quite a few times. Totally miss their old Gyro's and pastas, new food not as good or consistent.

Sin & Grin I agree people should try. Tacos are great and service is good.

Mod pizza is meh, same with Dog Haus.

Kentlands has way too many spaces open. They should not have added on before filling some of the other spots.

Crown Farm has had issues, gun shots recently were not a good sign of long term safety. Some not so nice people hanging out at odd times is also off putting.

Also, schools for Crown Farm until they build the HS it's Gaithersburg. Not sure why anyone would be there with kids unless doing private.

Also, the Pulte built homes in Crown are garbage. We looked at buying a condo or townhome to rent out and besides the sales man being so arrogant one wanted to throw up, the floors are not level, grout poorly done in bathrooms, tile not cut properly, shall I go on? These were not in the millions, but over $600,000 for poor construction no thanks.

Best thing about Crown Farm, Starbucks locaation best in the county! Coastal Flatts makes great salads and Spice Life Indian is quite good. Also, Asia Nine owners are lovely.

Crown has a bus to the metro which is very nice. And it's right at the entrance to 270.

I would say new money, probably foreign-born. South Asian doctor? Persian dentist? Nigerian lawyer? Also someone without a dust allergy - lots of carpet.

It's interesting to me that there are people who think Vasili's is mediocre.

My parents have lived in Manhattan for decades (mom grew up in NYC). Vasili's is pretty much the only place they like eating at when they come to visit. They think it's terrific.

Which are the Pulte homes? The Copley Place building?

Agree on Kentlands - it's a mish mosh of places. They're adding these new eateries where this new promenade is (which is great since historically this has been no-man's land) but it's still surrounded by random shops like a medical supply store and a random jewlery shop. They could make that little strip into a pedestrian only street and make it REALLY walkable but instead, it's an even more crowded street to get through and find parking on.

People need medical supplies and jewelry. Just because they're not useful to you doesn't mean they are "random."

Copely is a different builder, although not much better than Pulte. The kitchen cabinets are pressboard. And at the Copley owners are not part of Crown amenities.

Pulte has townhomes across from Chopt/Asia Nine area and also streets. And condo's are by the pool at the far end of the community near the homes on this thread. They have already built two buildings I think they are building two more and apartments.

So many threads on here do now. But at least we threw in a little Gaithersburg vs. Bethesda to mix it up beyond DC vs. all the suburbs!

Oh, Gaithersburg is the typical place DCUMers who are anti-suburbs point to when they want an example of a place they think is horrible.
