The Walking Dead

Many people headed north during the initial outbreak and that helped protect them from the zombie infestation. However, food shortages and exposure caused millions to die and subsequently resort to cannibalism to survive. Not a great option.

As for the shore option- water isn't a protection either. Zombies can float and also roam the ocean floor by the millions. So many survived on boats (including a stolen Chinese nuclear sub) but an island would not have a secure perimeter. Offshore oil rigs are one of the most secure locations as far as zombies are concerned but a lack of fresh water and corrosion from salt water are constant problems.

That being said- my plan is to head for the Florida Keys, secure the bridges, and create a secure perimeter with semis and storage containers.

Storage container homes! And we would be protected from hurricanes, too.

Not for homes- I'd lay them end-to-end for a 10 foot high wall. All we'd need is a heavy duty forklift to move them around. You could also stack them in a 2-by-1 pyramid for a very high, easily defendable wall to protect against human incursion.

Then take a semi truck, weld sheet metal to one side (protect the cab and prevent walkers from going under) and you've got a simple, movable door.

My choice of hand weapons would be a mountain climbing ice axe or a Lobotomizer- a 2 foot hand shovel with axe blades added just below the shovel.

Yeah, the storage containers as perimeter would be great. But I would also convert a storage container into my home. I would sleep better at night.

I'd go with someplace that freezes in winter. While the zombies are frozen you can smash their heads. No re animation. Actually, the zombie guide is wrong because if the head freezes, the ice in the brain matter will essentially kills it with ice daggers.
I'd go to a military base. Big fences, lots of space and houses. And probably containers of mres.

Not the only crazy one

Um, no offense but you've offered no helpful suggestions and I have no interest in carrying dead weight. Prove your worth to me and I may let you survive.

I'm dying laughing at your response

Ok, I have a vast knowledge of gardening and basic livestock (chickens goats etc) and worked at a hospital for about 6 years. I feel I can preform minor medical procedures in the field with little resources. I have planned my escape from every situation in a ZA, my walking dead watching friends and I have an escape and meet up plan if the ZA goes down. I am an avid camper and feel I have the survival skills necessary to make it in a ZA.
I know how to drive the front loader to move the storage containers for the perimeter
My weakness; I have never shot a gun and do not own one. But I would get one if shit went down. I am a very accurate shot with a bow and arrow though

Oh my gosh. What's up with the extra 30 minutes of commercials. Torture.

I'm going to type up all my thoughts in one post to send at the end of the episode.

*Yes!! Morgan! He looks healthy and sane and in a good place. Awesome.
*Interesting. The W's are carved while people are alive. Wolves.
*Wolf guy seems very unstable. Shocking. Morgan is awesome. So badass. And the fact that he protects the guys by putting them in the car, instead of leaving them outside? Good man.
*YESSSSS...Daryl.... I've missed you....
*They moved Pete to a new house. Interesting.
*Love Carol. She's so strong compared to season 1 Carol. Borderline too cold...but still awesome.
*Sasha is making a mass grave. Eek. Someone needs to help her. Oh no oh no. She's laying down in it?!
*Poor Aaron. He shouldn't blame himself too much for the ones they had to exile.
*Oh f*ck. Nicholas is such bad news. I'm worried.
*Father Gabriel can go suck an egg.
*Confused by the gunshot sounds when Aaron and Daryl were killing walkers outside the fence. Looked like they both had knives. Weird.
*Oh no is this going to be a trap?! Shit. Is someone going to get trapped? Aaron? Daryl? Yup. Trap. Trailers rigged and full of walkers. Great. Daryl beheading three walkers in one swoop with the chain? Awesome.
*Scene with Carol and Pete/#PorchDick made my jaw drop. She's very bold. Threatening him like that.
*No Glenn!!! Why are you following Nicholas? Let the idiot go out on his own and get killed. Shit. Glenn is going to get stuck in a trap. No!!! Nicholas shot him?? At least he only got Glenn's shoulder.
*Sure. Give PorchDick a house with a view of his wife's house. Great idea. #Sarcasm
*Yesss!!!!! MORGAN!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad he still has the map. Daryl can make the connection.
*Again. Gabriel. Don't care if you die. Not even a little bit.
*Aww. Abraham brought flowers.
*I like Rosita.
*Oh No. Letting Gabriel be in charge of the gate? Dumbest decision ever.
*Nicholas is a pansy. Can't even stab a walker.
*No!!! Glenn!! No no no. Don't die. Not like that! Damnit Nicholas.
*Uh oh. Looks like something bad got into Alexandria....Rick to the rescue!
*Is it just me, or did it get dark crazy fast? I thought there was sunlight and then Rick started running and then boom, pitch dark.
*Yes. Glenn is still alive. Good job punching Nicholas.
*Oh no. Red poncho is dead. Sadness.
(Commercial thoughts)
I'm sad about who is going to die this episode. There are only ten minutes left. I can't handle the suspense!
*Gabriel is a coward. Pissing off Sasha so she will (possibly) kill him instead of going out to meet his death.
*Maggie is a much better woman than I am.
*Well shit. Now the wolves have pictures of Alexandria and Rick/Carl.
*Oh wow. The ending. Rick kills Pete right as Morgan appears. Cliffhanger! What about Glenn?!?!

^you are fucking awesome! Ggod night.

I FREAKIN' LOVED THE ENDING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So: Morgan's all "Life is precious" now, so much that he puts the unconscious wolves in a safe place, and the first thing he sees at the end of his long search is Rick cold executing Pete. Seems like that was Not What Morgan Was Hoping For.

There was a brief shot of Glen and Nicholas helping each other to walk back around the walls to the gate. They both lived.

My DVR cut off the very end! Saw Michonne with her pensive samurai sword moment, then went to a shot of the scary, fenced-in, trap with truckloads of walkers place, but didn't see if anything happened there or was shown. Can someone fill me in on the last few seconds?
