I am not really of Spanish heritage, but my (very anglo, US born) family lived in Spain and all over Latin America. My mother was born in Havana and a lot of spanish permeated our lives (my aunt has a latin name). Here's my question: what's the take on Atticus as a boy's middle name? Clearly a reference to To Kill a Mockingbird...is it too pretentious? First name is pretty "generic" and tame.

My in-laws named their son Atticus. They are pretentious as shit. So I think it's pretty pretentious as a first name, but I think all bets are off for middle names. That's where you go crazy if you want to.

Well I know a family who just had a new DD. Her name is sounds very similar to Hollins Olivia (don't want to post it here because it's very specific). And although the first name is pretentious I kind of like it. But what I REALLY hate is that after each FB post they hashtag #hollinsolivia. #hollinsolivia this and #hollinsolivea that. Maybe it bugs me because this woman always tries to portray the perfect life. Sets up vignettes on her birthday of a Tiffany bag, perfect dinner and a glass of champagne. Took going home from the hospital pictures of her in a dress, heals, large costume jewelry and full hair and makeup. So this tied together with all of the other pretentious crap really rubs me the wrong way. If I see it one more time I'm going to scream.
