It wasn't really a bar but I remember the old pool hall on Wisconsin by American University/Tenleytown. In our young 20s it was a great place to go to shoot some pool, drink some beer, smoke cigarettes (gasp!). Fond memories of that place. We'd often have Mexican across the street beforehand.

I miss that place! That stretch of 2 blocks needs a good plain old bar. Tune Inn is what it is. Hawk and Dove is terrible.

The Brickskeller had a drink on the menu called a Skip and Go Naked that I loved. My god, 35 years ago.
