I did go to The Library the Fall of 1990 and never heard of it again, I thought it was a mirage of my freshman year.

I also went to Anastasia's in Georgetown and always thought of that place when I was in Banana Republic.

Spent a lot of time at a place called Henry's in Foggy Bottom, owned by two brothers. It was next to another bar called Milo's.

I remember a Mister Days in an alley (?) where there was a bunch of TVs and an area for dancing on the other side of the booths.

And as an AU student in the early 90s I spent way, way, way too much time at Quigley's (now Chef Geoff's).

I used to get annoyed at how often I ended up at Buffalo Billiards for football and now I realize it was a good default bar for a reason. I miss it.

Cafe St. Ex. I know it still exists, but it always looks empty and depressing and now they serve like 15 different preparations of...chicken? They used to have a good brunch.

Herpes Triangle: Mister Days, Sign of the Whale, Rumors, Rally in the Alley.

And, Republic Gardens, State if the Union, Bar Nun.

Garrett’s, 3rd Edition, and The Bayou.

The old New Vegas Lounge in the 90s for chill low key nights hanging out with the old timers, old timers who knew something about the blues.

The Channel Inn, I was on the younger side of patrons, but I loved the music and live bands. Real old school DC. Great people watching.

What I remember best about that time was the variety. it all was there all something for everyone, like a big buffet and you could move from one scene to another so easily, not much traffic at night and free street parking was plentiful. Nothing going on in Adams Morgan, no problem swing over to U St or G-town, or Herpes Triangle, or F street, or the Wharf.

And it was so affordable; cheap drinks, 2 for 1 HHs, and free food.
It was a great time to be young, broke, just out of college and just starting out.

I had a lot of stupid fun back then and no camera phones to capture any of it. So much freedom to let loose, roam around the city and blow off steam.

Herpes triangle 🤣

Asylum. 50 cent beers. Starting at 5pm on Saturdays and going up in price every half hour. As americorps/service corps kids with no money were always happily wasted by 7pm

The Gibson. Back before we all worked from home on snow days, they used to open early when the federal government was closed and make hot toddies for the locals.

Thank you! I was going crazy trying to remember Stetsons. Was a Dems hangout. I remember being there on election night in 2000.
