Two Women Shot in Alexandria; Police Searching for Suspect

I think when you sign up to receive the emails you have choices re topics, so I choose weather, schools, and emergencies from the police. For police ones I get random things about roads being closed for water main breaks, etc, but I have been getting emails re th Lodato crime, I think the most recent was the sketch and the helicopters.

Looks like the email topics in question are "police media" and "police news releases."

They are unconcerned about how you "feel."

I'm not the poster you are responding to, and don't have an opinion as to the adequacy of the investigation at this time. However, I think it is unreasonable to say that the police and our other elected officials don't care how the voting public perceives the adequacy of an investigation into a serious crime.

Just a heads up to neighbors that heard/saw lots of police heading down Braddock Rd w/lights&sirens a few minutes ago. I turned on scanner..seems to be unrelated to this case. Some sort of incident over by the Braddock Rd Metro (not at the metro, just nearby).

I live in Alexandria ny my DCs school was on lockdown last week. This is starting to really freak me out.

It freaks me out too. Something doesn't add up with how this is being handled.

We really better hear something tomorrow. Some kind of update - more detailed description, video stills from someone's home security, ballistics testing corroborated w/ the other 2 killings - just something. It would bad for the PD to continue to stay quiet. Even if the trail goes colder, it would be bad to not have at least another press conference or release more details to assuage the many questions.

Me too. In S Arlington and close to the crimes. If it were just one, then I'd think it was totally random. But the fact it has happened before just freaks me out and think they are connected.

APD just posted sketch again on Twitter and FB..said they've gotten hundreds of tips and are investigating them

They couldn't have gotten a sketch going? by this time? No height, build description?

Really disappointed in the Alexandria PD.

Are you the idiot openly speculating on twitter about a serial killer? Are you @alexandriavamom? If so, please stop tweeting your nonsense.

What the hell is wrong with you? No, I'm not that person - I'm just a concerned Alex resident. And yes, with a similar killing just a few months ago, seeing the cold-case similarities is undeniable. Why are you so angry at the concern? Are you the psycho killing random people?

No. I just have no patience for hysterical nincompoops in situations like this. Such as yourself.

There are two people on Twitter openly linking this to the death of two other Alexandrians, including Nancy Dunning. The police have said no such thing, and in fact have taken to Twitter to smack down these two idiot tweeters. What's wrong with me? No, what the FUCK is wrong with you?? How DARE you declare yourself "really disappointed in the Alexandria PD." You're not a first responder. You are not important. You know nothing. Yet here you are, second-guessing the professionals. And accusing people who call you on your bullshit of being a murderer.

Here's some advice: Stop posting. Your input is not welcome anymore.

Did this unhinged poster who was so angry at the suggestion all these murders could be related ever come back to apologize for being so rude to everyone?

And why no new info from the survivor?
The city services in alexandria are terrible of course, but to find out the police are terrible too - that really sucks.

I agree. It's weird there is a survivor and clear eye witness yet no more info has been provided.

I also feel like they're not trying. There seems to be very little community and law enforcement communication. I feel like there HAS to be more details available, from home security, or other evidence, but either they're not being aggressive about collecting info, or they're being silent about it. Neither is helpful to a community with 3 eerily similar unsolved murders.

Does anyone really think this guy is still anywhere near Alexandria? He's had plenty of time to shave the beard, dye his hair and change his clothes before jumping in a car or on a bus or train to goodness-knows-where.

I keep thinking that this is a person who lives nearby.
