If your friend just lost her child last night, how do they know it's SIDS? It's not like it leaves purple spots or something - it would be some time before a diagnosis was made, and even then it's a diagnosis of exclusion.

Aaaand another nice thread gets wrecked by someone who doesn't recognize that there is a time and a place for personal troubles, and thinks that the whole world should stop right now and recognize that bad stuff happens. (Hint: Someone else's fun thread is NOT the place. And a tip: you may think you're "raising awareness" by publicizing your friend's grief, but thank you, we were already aware, and, what you're really doing is flaunting your friend's grief to get attention for yourself. Go away.)

From all your stupid BS let me emphasize this.

No, not everybody is aware. OP is an example. She didn't even know that co-sleeping and bed sharing are not the same thing.

I know enough about it to recognize that most people use the term "co-sleeping" to refer to bed sharing. Why don't you save your crap for the people who let their kids sleep on their bellies?

Anonymous wrote:OP, did you put eye shadow on DD? Laura Mercier Rose Gold?

I don't even have time to put eye shadow on myself! I guess it's just natural. I remember being in a high school play and the makeup person was running around and said "good, you're already done," and I had no idea what she was talking about. She thought I was already wearing lavender eye shadow (I had never worn makeup before that night). So maybe it's the same phenomenon.

I guess the DCUM-worthy response would be "yeah, right after I waxed her eyebrows."

I went through a phase where I wore makeup every day. The one day that I wasn't wearing makeup, someone complimented me on my gorgeous eye makeup. It happened again two weeks later. Guess who stopped wearing eye makeup?

Haters gotta hate. I'm really glad I didn't share the pics of her playing peekaboo. Danger, danger.

I wonder if you'd "joke" like that if you lost your baby. Or a friend did.

Formula feeding doubles the risk of SIDS. Was your friend a formula feeder, PP?

Actually not. This baby girl was the youngest of 5 kids all boys. We're all shocked. The parents are what DCUM would call "organic snob".

OK. This really isn't the place for a SIDS debate. (And, BTW, SIDS being a diagnosis of exclusion, they may "guess" at SIDS now, but I promise the cause of death is undetermined at this point.). If anyone can show a case of SIDS where the parent was standing over the child with a camera, fire away.

Now, back to more pictures and the debate of what to call the tumblr.

I feel really bad for your friend, but you didn't need to hijack this thread. Go start a new one about your concerns. Better yet, come back when you have more information and then share something helpful. I would actually very much appreciate that.

I never said OP's child will die of SIDS while she's taking pictures. You're an idiot if this is what you thought. Nobody will read 15 pages to figure out that she doesn't do anything but stare at her gorgeous baby while she sleeps. People assume OP is not supervising the nap baby takes with the cat. Threads like this might make people smile but they also give out wrong impressions.

Hijack what? I was responding to the OP, not the PPs.

With a baby that gorgeous, what else is there to but stare at her every moment of the day?

(totally not OP)

No new picture?

How's that tumblr coming, OP? Then we can all go there and not have to hear from the hijacker. You can tell stories and baby and Baby, though. We'll read those.

Because ignoring threats to children will make them magically go away. Yeah, right.
