| ^^PP amazing job on your income. |
| 28 years old & 25k in retirement fund |
|
51. $629,425.25 (but who's counting?) |
The flames will come soon.... |
That's a good number. For yourself and partner/spouse? Or just for you? |
|
DH and I are both 30, he has zero saved for retirement.
I have $45k. But I get a pension at my job. DH has already said he'll be working to he's dead sadly. |
|
46, me: 360k, H: 200k,
$330k HHI, 1 DD, 1st grade, 55K college fund. |
| DH and I are both 52. I have $1,024,000 saved and he has $381,583 saved. I put the max allowed into every retirement plan the IRS allowed and then my employer matched some % . He skimped on the early years and now his plan is capped at 10% income per year. |

Me: 32 Income: 105K and some odd change.
Retirement account:: 105K and some odd change. |

About $720k. Maxed savings in deferred comp plan for years. DS 48 about $400k. Conservative home equity range $500-600k. |
|
DH/49/just shy of 500K
DW/42/a little over 400K We both max the 401(k) and have very small IRA's from before our current jobs. No other significant savings, but also no debt other than the house. (We drained the rainy day fund a couple yeasr ago on loans to family, and haven't built it back beyond a few K yet. So we have stuff to work on.) |
It's not too late for him, but he should get on the stick. Time value of money and all; his 20s aren't coming back. I didn't start until I was 33, but through good fortune job-wise and fairly aggressive savings and debt-paydown, I feel like I'm almost on track (and will be caught up to where I feel like I ought to be by 50). |
|
@ 33: ~90k
@ 36: ~245k Clearly I am behind - most of that was due to going back to school and not having income those several years. We max out our employer-sponsored 401ks now... |
Is there anyone else who is 41 years old and waaaaaaay, way, way behind like me? Recession kicked my ass. I should never open these threads
|

Me 34, $150k TSP, $100k mutual fund/IRAs
DS 33, $95k in 401k, $70k mutual fund/IRAs $100k in savings account. $25k "invested" in my brother's business which is likely a wash. If military pensions are still around in 12 yrs I hope to get one of those as well. HHI is $180k. |
