I am not the pp who wants the "real story" and I do believe that 9/11 happened and was not a result of our govt or anything but one thing I do want is to read or hear eye witness accounts from those sitting in traffic right in front of the Pentagon that morning or approaching the pentagon and what they saw.

Did they see the whole plane come down on them? Did they hear it? I have sat in traffic right next to the Pentagon where the plane hit and have heard and seen low flying plans so it's loud and you can hear them coming. How come there was not a massive traffic accident? When you are coming off 395 exit and you pass under the under pass, people are driving fast. Within a few feet traffic would have been stopped because they would have just seen a plane hit or worse their cars hit by debris. It's just weird to me that nothing like this was ever reported in the news. No eye witness accounts or anything.

If you are in rush hour traffic near the Pentagon, you will know that it is nearly at a standstill especially in the morning. I did not see the plane go into the Pentagon, but I heard it from my house. If it had been 2 o'clock in the afternoon, traffic would have been moving at a faster pace and there could have been more accidents caused by the distracting noise of the impact. I also have a friend whose friend was the co-pilot of the flight that went into the Pentagon. At the family's request, he listened to the flight recorder from the cockpit. It was horrendous.

My parents heard the plane hit as well from their house.

And the first ones did not take video. Video was not available until sometime after 2007. So, in 2001, most people did not carry cameras. And in 2001, most cameras were still film. Ergo, the lack of video is not surprising, and in fact the remarkable thing was there was video of some aspects of 9-11.

Technology has changed fast.

Oh, and I was looking out my Rosslyn office, and saw the streak and fire ball. The plane came in very fast: full throttle, and was a blur.

I watched the ESPN documentary on OJ Simpson and, after hearing the details of exactly how the killing was done and seeing the photos, I find it impossible to believe that someone could walk away from that leaving only a few drops of blood. Even the bloody footprints they showed were very faint. How is it possible to nearly sever someone's head, walk through puddles of blood and leave only a few tiny drops in the getaway car?

Just what I was about to say. I guess a plane could crash into the Potomac but I wouldn't have video evidence if I just happened to be sitting in traffic on the GW Parkway at the same time.

Ok so no commuters would take a photo/video, but no one in the whole approach area was filming anything? No other security cameras? Of one of our top military buildings? Again, I don't doubt that it happened. Just thought it was odd there weren't more photos/videos of the plane flying right before the crash.

Of course there's security camera footage of it. It's on YouTube. I believe they seized all security footage immediately afterwards but it was eventually released.
There's very few videos of the first plane hitting the towers too. There's more footage of the second plane and the collapse because it took longer to happen. It's hard to video something that happens in a split second.

I was living in Georgetown that year but was in Richmond at the time of the crash. For a year afterward, every time I saw a plane go overhead in Georgetown, I thought about that crash and I wondered what path the plane took to the Pentagon. Did anyone look up and say to themselves, "That seems like an unusual flight path"?

Funny how this thread was started in 2012 and when opened back up again in 2016 a very few things were solved (Morgan Harrington, McStay), but the majority are still mysteries.

I'm also listening to the Missing Maura Murray podcast - I am one of those people who think she was disoriented by the crash, was worried about a DUI, slipped into the woods, tucked herself into a hollow or small space to stay warm and wait out the police, and inadvertently died and her remains never found. Simplest explanation. But with so many unknowns, there are so many other plausible theories.
