Kenwood used to be that you had to pay 25% of the intitation up front and the balance spread over 10 months. They are now allowing it to be spread over 20 months.
There is a wait list for the full membership but you can get in now at a lower level and then be bumped up when a slot opens up, probably in 18-24 months. The only added benefit of the full membership is that you can golf on the weekends before 1 pm. |
What are the initiation and monthly fees at Lakewood cc now? Is there a long waiting list? |
Here's a thought--if you have to ask the price, you can't afford to join. |
Wow, 15 pages. |
Kenwood????? What are you smoking. The course stinks, it's incredibly short and the club is owned by a for profit private corporation whereas at Columbia, Chevy Chase and Congressional, members OWN the club and control how money is spent. Kenwood is decent as a B level club, but it does not compare to Columbia, Chevy or Congressional. Any honest member there will tell you the same. Also, Burning Tree has plenty of Jewish members - no women, so get your facts straight. |
Agreed, Kenwood is a good club, but not even close to the other three. |
What if you don't play/don't care about golf? How are the other facilities and the management? |
I know this has become mostly about MD clubs, but does anyone have any thoughts on Belle Haven, Westwood or Washington Golf in VA? I've heard the golf courses are much better at the first two, though Washington Golf has a better location. Any thoughts anyone has on these places would be appreciated. |
The facilities (especially at Congressional and Columbia) are excellent as both have gone through major renovations. Chevy Chase is beautiful as well. Kenwood has awesome fitness facilities but lacks that club feel. I agree with the previous poster that the fact a corporation runs it detracts greatly from its appeal. However, it is still a good club - but if your going to spend 60+K, why not join one of the big three. |
Because the big 3 are nearly double! |
What a highly entertaining and informative thread. Does anyone know the non-golf initiation for Columbia? Thanks in advance. |
Non golf at Columbia is around $50,000. To be an active full (golf) member it is $80,000, unlike the previous poster who suggests that it is so much more than Kenwood. Chevy Chase is slightly more and Congressional is over $100k. |
Thank you! |
No one's commenting on Bethesda CC... Any thoughts? |
Two weeks after this post and nothing? Wow, I guess it does not compare to Congressional, Chevy or Columbia. |
