“Fear”? Of this little toad? Sure, Jan. |
Well said. |
DP. You can’t be this stupid… can you? Are either Collins or Trump receiving *disability payments*?? JFC. |
| Oh no, a Democrat is behaved vaguely so like a Republican, so he's unelectable and we have to elect a corrupt Republican instead, someone who has repeatedly lies about her own reperehensible behavior while actually in the office. |
He went to Hotchkiss for a very short time. Most of his time was at HS in Bangor. |
He can't be any worse than Susan Collins, Fetterman, and Donald Trump. |
Fetterman has stroke related brain damage so I wouldn’t trust him and Trump is a child rapist so I wouldn’t trust him either. Although I don’t much like Susan Collins’ politics in recent years she’s not a die hard MAGA, she’s actually reviled by them as being a RINO, she voted to convict Trump in the J6 impeachment and I have little doubt she was sick that the electorate put him back in the WH and she’s stuck trying to balance on a fence post for two more years until some normalcy returns. I would sure trust Susan with my dog before I’d trust Platner, Fetterman or Trump. They’re all three unbalanced. |
Susan Collins is "reprehensible" and "corrupt" to you? Good grief. That explains so much. |
A private high school in Bangor. Not that it matters to me either way, but let's at least be honest here. |
Susan Collins has spent a decade making herself the center of attention and then doing the wrong thing every.effing.time. Except for the conviction vote, I will give her a golf clap for that one. |
I like her and disagree completely with your assessment. I think she does a good job of NOT making herself the center of attention. If I lived in Maine, I'd definitely be voting for her over this crass, fake, Hobbit. |
Go watch her speech finally deciding that she’s going to confirm Kavanaugh, despite supposedly supporting Roe v. Wade, after weeks of stringing the media along. She might as well have been on the balcony with Juan Peron. Also, I’m from a family of centrist Republicans like her and she KNOWS BETTER and yet still keeps taking votes and confirming hacks that do nothing but make our country worse. That’s worse than all these new idiot MAGA GOP Senators who know nothing, at least they’re predictable. Also, we’re aware you don’t like Platner. I don’t really either and would have preferred Mills, or the other normie Democrat who was in the race before Mills went in and took his lane, or Jared freaking Golden who I don’t understand why he’s not doing anything. And we have a whole thread here about him, plus a whole thread about Senate races in general, so you don’t have to use another thread that has nothing to do with him to go off with your irrelevant speculation just because it mentions where he used to work decades ago. |
It would be well said if it were true. But IT IS NOT TRUE. PP keeps insisting that his rating requires UNEMPLOYABILITY when there are categories that carry no work restrictions including 1) a combined 100% rating OR 2) the 100% Schedular Rating for PTSD which requires total occupational impairment at the time of the exam. In both cases, if you can find ways to manage symptoms there are no restrictions. From what I have read Platner reached the 100% threshold with physical injuries (herniated discs, shoulder, knees) plus PTSD plus hearing loss. It is entirely legitimate for him to work. We want veterans to get the support they need and return to work, remember? |
Could you explain to the class why Platner has stated he doesn’t draw an income from his oyster farming but instead has his wife draw that income, so as not to impact his disability benefits? |
This. I respect people who've served in the armed forces and don't respect people who cheat the system. Both can be true at the same time. If Platner is able and well enough to run an oyster farm and represent the entire state of Maine in the U.S. Senate, he shouldn't be collecting 100% VA disability, which is meant to compensate veterans for impairments that affect their ability to work. |
