Students with a 9th period get out at 12:50, with buses leaving a few minutes after that. |
9th period will happen. |
How does it work on other early release days? |
You don't seem to understand what level 4 means here. |
Nothing is certain but death, taxes and 9th period |
Well, the level 4 level means we will have a good chance to see tornadoes in our area tomorrow afternoon and we will most likely be put under a tornado warning by 1pm tomorrow. According to Doug Kammerer, the storms will move through between 2-6pm and into the metro area between 3-5pm. Damaging winds are likely to occur and you don’t want to get caught outside when the storms roll through. All of this supports the early dismissal that MCPS (and multiple other counties) has announced. |
...riiiiight. All the nearby counties are closed too. Please educate yourself. |
Hope they don’t lose power! |
| Hopefully this does not cause prolonged power outages |
They get out at 12:50, but this isn’t a standard early dismissal day. The message from MCPS seemed to definitively say that high school will dismiss at 12 noon, not that they will follow early dismissal processes. |
That’s not what the message said. |
What do they do on a normal early dismissal day?? after school activities are cancelled (obviously). |
Some buses do not get to their destinations u til after 2pm with a 1:20 or :25 early dismissal time. So are those students going to "wait it out" on a bus ??? |
Unfortunately I don’t think this will be the case. They will be letting kids out in the midst of severe weather, even with the early dismissal. It’s supposed to start pushing in around 10:00 am and get progressively worse during the day. I saw an infographic that said that everything will really be ramping up between 12:00-2:00. I hope MCPS made the right call. |
Why would we be put under a warning an hour before tornados hit? That makes no sense |
