sigh |
There are 2 14-page threads of what seems like Georgia Tech and Umich? Grads are attacking Emory. But if we call them bitter, then it's a problem. An Emory booster would never start threads like these. We have no reason to punch down, talk about a waste of time. GT grads can't find jobs currently, worry about that. Emory is more than fine. |
Could you please just stop posting please. Pretty please? |
lol. did you see the emory vs umich thread? emory is insecure epitomized |
Since Emory is a really easy admit for early decision applicants, it might be considered a top choice for that third tier applicant. It is a good school and that is okay. |
58% test optional with the lowest class ranking percents compared to other schools. what were emory’s scores pre test optional and how did it compare to these schools then? |
Once again, anyone who bashes Emory (or any other school) should reveal where they and their kid(s) went to school. It is not statistically possible for so many HYPS alums and parents to be posting in the same place. So perhaps they can just STFU. |

here we go. last time pre test optional, emory’s enrolled class had a 1400 to 1510. not bad but not elite. certainly lower than actual top privates at the time. |
georgia tech was 1380 to 1520 for same period https://irp.gatech.edu/files/CDS/CDS_2020.pdf |
also only 82% of emory’s freshman were in the top 10% of their class compared to 88% at tech |
That’s a crazy large number admitted test optional. |
Why does this poster keep coming after GT and Umich. Different animals. These are public universities like UNC UT etc that need to admit a certain % of instates. So weird. Emory is more like Case Western or Tulane. More viable comparisons |
It’s hard to get excited over boring campus life in a hot/humid weather most of the year. |
Yep. Plus those Public’s have very low OOS acceptance rates in the single digits. Emory no where close to single digits under any criteria |
What? The CDS reports that 63% of students submitted test scores. GPA has minimal bearing on intelligence, especially when many schools admit that test scores matter more and are more indicative of college success, so the reinstated test scores. Also, Emory does not look at freshman GPA, which is probably why the top decile is only 80%. |
