Might I suggest that a parent wanting to pay private school tuition for their child to attend Michigan oos cannot be trusted to differentiate illusion from reality?

Agree with the turmoil, know of a few families that chose other schools after seeing chaos on accepted students day.

My dad went there as an international student for dental school, my mom for biology graduate school, and both talk about their time there fondly. I am guessing it is an attempt to separate the wheat from the chaff in terms of high stats applicants who are using it as a back up versus high stats kids who want a UM experience as a first choice.

Wisconsin is over 40% out of state and is probably the closest to Michigan on that front.

I was just in Madison Wisconsin for the first time. Very favorably impressed with University of Wisconsin campus facilities and location. Was not evaluating for a DC. I've been to a lot of college campuses. That's one I would recommend looking into further. I used the virtual tour to understand what was inside the buildings I strolled past. The virtual tour was good, too.

Protests. My DC is applying this coming year but isn't doing ED.

We all acknowledge it is a good grad school. For undergrad, it is overrated. Internationals love it because they don’t know the difference between undergraduate and graduate school when looking at their international (graduate school) rankings.
