DD’s teachers were demanding and I don’t think there were ever retakes, but broadly speaking they did give girls the opportunity to improve their grades (eg extra credit projects that were challenging, corrections, etc). The teachers had high standards, they expected the girls to do their work in the timeframe assigned, and, at least in the honors/AP classes, they moved at a fast pace and assigned a lot of work. Teachers were willing to work with girls who communicated with them. I know some of DD’s friends took a less rigorous course load and their teachers seemed a bit more lenient, but I think the above minus the pace/workload applies.

As for dress—there’s a uniform and it’s pretty straightforward. I believe you can find all of those details on the SR site. School was/is frustrated that families were so they started aggressively cracking down at school, but in the end I’m not sure it made a difference. US girls wear sneakers of their choice unless it’s a dress day.

I've seen students wear sweatpants under skirts. What are the rules on that is it just allowed in cold weather?

Does the HS have class rankings? If so how do they work?

Have you? Because I DD was disappointed that this specific trend isn’t allowed at SR. Apparently they can’t even wear leggings. I asked DD what are they supposed to do during winter?! She replied, “freeze”

Then again, this is info she got during her shadow day, so it could be off lol

Every girl at Holton does the sweatpants+roll the kilt up so far it practically looks like a belt mix. I don’t even know why they bother enforcing that they even wear it at all.

I’ll be asking plenty of uniformed questions at the used uniform sale, but if you google image search “Stoneridge uniform skirts” you get a pretty good idea of how the girls style everything.

Seniors “earn” the right to wear sweatpants under the kilt. Any time a sports team wins a big game the reward is free dress for all. Any time the date is the number of the senior year it’s free dress for all. If a local professional sports team has a big game it’s free dress for all. See the pattern? I can’t blame admin because nobody wants to police butt cheeks day in and day out.

I think sweatpants are allowed for any student just not explained in the dress code. I don't think the school will allow students to "freeze" especially one that's so lenient.

So I'm just asking so I can get a clear view on the atmosphere of her grade, the school, and the high school in general from a more recent standpoint.

If your daughter is on the quieter side she is most likely to get bullied out of there because bullying in the class of 2029 is very grand. I have a daughter there who is "smart" and there are many girls who either bully her or repeatedly ask her to do their homework and make them cheat sheets for test. She is basically cut out from her peers socially other than that.

You mean 2028 right? There is a mother/daughter duo in 2028 that is involved in heavy bullying.
